Current Members include: greenhouse gas emitters, verifiers, certifiers, auditors, investors, insurers, traders, brokers, financial and commodity exchanges and other companies serving the greenhouse gas emissions trading market in developed, emerging economies and developing countries. Membership Fee Structure All prospective members whose application for membership is approved by the Board shall be required to pay in advance a membership fee. The current membership fee structure is: ? CHF 18 900 - per annum in the case of members having their headquarters in an OECD country and ? CHF 9 450 - per annum in the case of members having their headquarters in a non-OECD country The membership fee is calculated on a calendar year basis and is payable pro rata from the beginning of the quarter immediately proceeding the date of application for Members joining during the course of any year. Membership Application Process 1) Application for membership is submitted to the IETA Secretariat 2) The application is reviewed by the IETA Board 3) Upon approval, the organization becomes a member of IETA Membership Requirements Member companies of IETA should: ? be committed to the mission of IETA ? be committed to the objectives of IETA which are to: o Promote awareness and dialogue, o Share knowledge in this area o Development of the market building blocks for an efficient and credible trading system ? be a business entity which is legally and operationally independent ? have standing and influence within its area of activities ? be willing to be actively involved in the IETA work program ? support the principles of sustainable development embodied in the Rio Declaration and Agenda 21 ? understand that membership does not imply endorsement of products, services, practices or statements of the company and its employees or agents ? nominate a company representative, to manage the interface with IETA and ensure optimum feedback for the member company ? pay the annual membership fee, as currently determined by the Council ? accept the rules and regulations of the Association as they currently exist and as they may hereafter be altered.
