Award winners gain from improved standing within the nonwovens business community, as well as significant public relations advantages. INDEX Awards are only allocated once every three years on the occasion of the INDEX exhibition.INDEX 08 takes place at Geneva Palexpo, Switzerland, from 15-18 April 2008.The categories1 Nonwoven roll goods.2 Finished products made from, or incorporating nonwovens.3 Marketing achievement for the most original marketing campaign for a product made from, or incorporating nonwovens.4 Raw materials or component - innovation in a raw material (eg fibre, binder), of special relevance to the nonwovens industry.5 Machinery - innovation in machinery of special relevance to the nonwovens industry.6 Humanitarian contribution - a new award for a solution or product involving nonwovens which has provided a significant humanitarian or environmental contribution.Criteria› A company may only submit one product per category› Products must be commercially available at the time of submission. › Products must not have been commercially launched before April 2005.ApplicationsPlease submit the attached application form, which must be received byEDANA before 2 January 2008.The AwardEach winner will receive a specially commissioned bronze sculpture and adiploma. The sculpture symbolises the versatility and features of nonwovensmade by Olivier Strebelle, the renowned Belgian sculptor. Olivier Strebelle, born in 1927, had already gained an enviable reputation bythe age of 20 and today his sculptures are displayed in major cities inEurope, in the United States and Asia. He will design the 100 metre longseries of sculptures for the new Olympic Museum and Park to be opened bythe 2008 Beijing Olympics.Recent winners include:Advanced Design Concepts, Ahlstrom, Freudenberg Vliesstoffe, BASF and Küsters.JudgingThe panel of judges is made up of experts of technical, converting andmarketing experience, as well as a policy maker and a member of thenonwovens press. The judges are looking for creative ideas, new techno-logy and innovative products. Entries have to score a minimum of65 points out of 100 points to be eligible for an award. Awards selection and press coverageAll qualifying entries will be publicised in a special press release three weeksbefore INDEX 08. The winners chosen from among the qualifying entries willbe presented with their Awards at a special Awards ceremony.
