INTRODUCTION The purpose of the injector ID is to ensure quick or hydrated lime injection into a sludge mixer or a preparation tank. It is located between the metering conveyor outlet and the equipment to feed. It can be operated with moisture presence. The injector replaces the isolation valve, necessary in humid conditions. Its horizontal position suppresses product gravity fall-down inside a conduit that will get blocked up, soon or later, during operation. The injector is chosen according to the installation throughput. Manufacturing : Stainless steel metal work and carbon steel spiral. PRINCIPLE The equipment consist of an inlet chute, which receives the metered product, and a spiral which transfers it to the injection point. The motor power and the spiral section are over-dimensioned to reduce the strengths created by the moisture. In operation, the moisture or steam are caught by product buckling created by the spiral. The spiral cleans by itself eventual crust. When the installation stops, the injector runs until it is empty thanks to a timer. At the restart the spiral will crush and eject any material residue solidification. ADVANTAGES - Avoid plugging and tamping in the outlet conduit. - Limit dust emission in “open” type mixer. - No compressed air. - No preventive cleaning. - Reduce height above mixer. - Easy installation. - Reduce height above mixer. - Easy throughput checking. - Quick disassembling.
