Instructions - Power Fail Alarm (PFA-4)

1. OPERATION MODES• When there is a power failure, the buzzer sounds, red LED blinks, flashlight illuminates. The green button silences the buzzer. The red LED continues to blink as long as there is a fault. • The “Plug Detection” feature detects the ground prong of a plug and causes an alarm if a plug is not present in the receptacle. • The “snooze alarm” feature causes the buzzer to sound again 30 minutes after being silenced.• The unit can produce an immediate latching** alarm to detect millisecond power interruptions. Alternatively, the unit can delay before giving an alarm. Jumpers C and D work in combination to produce 4 different modes as follows:2. INSERT BATTERY• Put battery snap on battery. Alarm will immediately beep.• Push green button to silence the alarm.• Plug into an wall outlet to clear the fault. (LED should stop blinking)3. FLASHLIGHTWhen there is a power failure the flashlight initially comes on at 50% brightness to save power. If the alarm is not acknowledged after 30 minutes the flashlight shuts off to save power. If the green button is pressed during the alarm to silence the buzzer, this switches on the flashlight to 100% brightness. Subsequent pushes of the button switch the flashlight on and off.4. NOTES• LED FLASHING: always indicates a fault, either no power, or low battery, or no plug. (if plug detection is enabled. • PLUG DETECTION: there can be up to a 15 second delay before a missing plug is detected.• BATTERY LIFE is more than 10 years if passively monitoring. Extended use of the buzzer (70 hours) or flashlight will naturally deplete the battery. Low battery voltage is signaled by 5 seconds of beeping twice per minute and continuous flashing of the red LED.Jan 21, 2013POWER FAIL ALARM (PFA-4)Engineering 205 Seneca Parkway, Rochester, NY 585-301-0970 www.drumalarm.comGizmo** Latching means a fault will not be cleared by only restoring power, button must be pressed to acknowledge the fault.JUMPER BEHAVIOR JMP ON JMP OFFA PLUG DETECTION ENABLED DISABLEDB 30 MIN.
