Longer sizes areconstructed with multiple vision slots in acontinuous solid bar chamber.CONNECTIONS:Standard connections are at top and bottom and are 1/2 or 3/4 NPT female.Optional connections are available, suchas socket weld, flanged or close hook-up(side/side).LIQUID CHAMBER:Machined from bar stock. The gasketseat is recessed to allow lateral supportand facilitate positioning.COVERS:Forged carbon steel is standard.Optional materials are available. The cushion gasket seat is recessed.BOLTS & NUTSAlloy steel is standard, A193 B7 andA194 2H. Optional materials are available. All steel fasteners are “blackoxide” treated to prevent rust.GLASS:Tempered Borosilicate is used to 600° F(316°). Aluminosilicate is used to 800°(427° C). Transparent glass may be protected from corrosive media with micaor Neoflon CTFE shields.GASKETS:Standard gaskets are precision die cut inproprietary Jerguson dies.FINISH:All steel parts are finish coated prior toassembly. Stainless steel is not coated.VALVES:Use of Jerguson gage valves is strong-ly recommended. Standard featuresinclude safety ball checks which helpprevent loss of product and physicalinjury in the event of failure.JERGUSON® GAGE AND VALVE JERGUSON® GAGE AND VALVE A Division of The Clark • Reliance® Corporation A Division of The Clark • Reliance® Corporation13200 North Promenade • Stafford, TX 77477 USA 16633 Foltz Industrial Parkway • Strongsville, OH 44136 USATelephone: (281) 240-4243 Fax: (281) 240-7299 Telephone: (440) 572-1500 Fax: (440) 238-8828NO. 60 SERIES VALVESSpecial Connections (extra charge)No. 60 Series Valves can be furnished upon request withFlanged, Socket Welding, Solid Shank(non-union) andSpherical Union Connections. The use of Spherical Unions oninlets and outlets with top and bottom connected gages is par-ticularly valuable when the vessel connections are not per-fectly parallel. This construction will compensate for up to 10°misalignment of vessel tapping in any direction from the per-pendicular axis and up to plus or minus 3/4" from mean centers. The same compensation may be had on side connected gagesusing single spherical tailpieces on the outlet connections.MaterialsNo. 60 Series Valves have steel bodies and malleable ironhandwheels. Long life is assured by the use of stainless steelfor the seat, stainless steel for the stem, and stainless steelball check.Roughing DimensionsTo determine maximum space available for gage, deduct fromcenter to center dimension:3 1/2" on No. 63, 66 5 7/8" on No. 64, 67Note A. 3/4" dimension applies to all 1/2" N.P.T. end connectedReflex and Transparent gages except L-10 which is 1 1/4".Note B. To determine overall length of 1/2" I.P.S. nipples add 7/8"to distance between gage and valve. For side connected gages:Refer to to bulletin on gage for cen-ters. Straight valves will have equal centers. Offset valve cen-ters will be 1 3/4" more (offset ouside gage centers) or less (off-set inside gage centers).Standard ConnectionsVessel: 3/4" N.P.T.Male adjustableGage: 1/2" N.P.T. Thebleed fitting is designed so its stemcannot be withdrawn accidentally. It is tapped for 1/8" N.P.T. discharge.Downstream Ball Check: No. 67.An additional safety feature in thebottom valve of a top and bottom con-nected assembly is an optional ballcheck on the downstream side of thebottom valve seat. This arrangementshuts off the flow of liquid in case offracture of the instrument of con-necting piping and eliminates theupsream ball in the bottom fitting. A1/2" male drain is standard.A cap maybe furnished on request.EFFECT OF SPHERICAL UNIONBACKSEATING STEM BLEED FITTINGJERGUSON® GAGE AND VALVE JERGUSON® GAGE AND VALVE A Division of The Clark • Reliance® Corporation A Division of The Clark • Reliance® Corporation13200 North Promenade • Stafford, TX 77477 USA 16633 Foltz Industrial Parkway • Strongsville, OH 44136 USATelephone: (281) 240-4243 Fax: (281) 240-7299 Telephone: (440) 572-1500 Fax: (440) 238-8828
