The com-pany aims to be both environmentally friendly and to contribute to sustainable development. A sustainable initiativeAs an attentive partner, Balteau responds to every request with professional consultancy followed by the appropriate and flexible development. It can handle all aspect of projects from designing to commissioning. Being able to give specific advice for more precise application, Balteau can consult the operators in the implementation, activation and maintenance of the facilities. Balteau’s tech-nicians are skilled in applying the latest technolo-gies and benefit from regular training designed to ensure that their work matches the reality on the ground. After a successful experience with the construction of a 200,000 PE waste water treatment plant in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), Balteau has ventured into Sri Lanka with the installation of a waste water treatment plant in the fishing harbour of Dikkowita (North of Colombo). New projects are also under development in these two countries as well as in Indonesia. The African continent is one of our target, with an important ongoing project underway in Cameroon for the upgrading of drinking water production centres around the country. In Kenya, we are joining forces with BAM Inter-national on a project to supply drinking water in the city of Wajir, fed from the Habaswein aquifer (140 km away). Other projects are underway in Ghana, Algeria and Ivory Coast.Balteau has carried out industrial projects in the food, steel, minerals, chemicals, energy, limestone and waste sectors.Using its mastery of the involved processes, Balteau develops the most suitable solutions for its clients by integrating the constraints of investment and operation cost. It also has expertise in the treat-ment of leachates originating from the industrial landfill centers (CET).By mastering the electricity, mechanics and hydrau-lics, Balteau’s design office, manufacturing factory and assembling teams offer a unique service to clients. Founded in 1978, Balteau masters the design and construction of global turnkey solutions in the fields of drinking water, waste water, energy, industry and infrastructure. The information we obtain via this moni-toring provides us a very valuable feedback. For export, Balteau teams up with local design of-fices in order to ensure that it complies with local legislation, regulations and best practise.ManufactureBalteau has two manufacturing workshops:n an industrial pipeline workshop;n an electrical cabinet wiring workshop. All electrical and automation units are wired and tested at our electrics workshop. The pipelines are prefabricated in our mechanical workshop, with the majority of production being in stainless steel. Other materials (PEHD, PVC, car-bon steel, etc.) complete the range required to meet all requirements for the various fluids to be conveyed.Depending on requirements and the techniques to be implemented, Balteau may make use of sub-contractors. This is particularly the case for process design and deployment on specific industrial sites or in certain foreign countries where the know-how of local partners can be very valuable.M A S T E R E D k n o W - h o WOver 30 years’ experience and the completion of numerous projects means Balteau has leading-edge skills and knowledge.AssemblyIn Belgium, the assembly and connection of equip-ment on site are carried out by Balteau technicians. Multidisciplinary teams are capable of taking care of all stages of the assembly process, both for elec-trical works and the installation of pipelines. Offe-ring flexibility, rapid intervention and an overview of the project, this structure is particularly suited to small projects where the flexibility of our teams is a key advantage. Overseas, assembly is carried out by local com-panies. Balteau can provide management of the assembly operations via the provision of an expe-rienced supervisor. The commissioning of the facili-ties, at both electromechanical and process levels, can also be carried out by Balteau’s technicians.operational assistanceDuring the operation, Balteau can provide its clients with advice on the management of the pro-cess and on the maintenance of the electromecha-nical equiment supplied.Balteau’s process engineers are fully conversant with the latest remote management technologies and can also coach the technical teams that will be maintaining the process. Remote advice and limited visits are also possible. Special calculation software for the modelling and dynamic simula-tion of the different processes enables different scenarios to be tested and the plant’s control parameters optimised. This support enables compliance with standards relating to discharge and the process itself, while at the same time rationalising operating costs.Research and developmentBalteau is very active in updating the latest technolo-gies and has a special team that researches new solu-tions and partnerships in Belgium and abroad. Through constant contact with research centres, uni-versities and scientific partners, Balteau optimises its exploitation of the potential offered by Walloon know-ledge and expertise. These efforts result in the application of new techno-logies, the acquisition of licences and/or the develop-ment of new tools.Trading / After-sales serviceSince its creation, Balteau has developed business activity centred primarily on industrial, municipal and entrepreneurial clients. We offer you the supply of turnkey pumping solutions consisting of the analysis of requirements, choice of pump, pipeline and electrical unit and, if the client so wishes, the assembly and commissioning of the facilities.SPW - Liège - Remote control of structures for the region of Liege Amay - WWTP: electrical workshop: TGBT - Prisma plusAIDE - Amay - WWTP: pumping station SWDE - Jambes - Pumping station AIDE - Oupeye - WWTP: Filtration of service water INASEP - Namur - WWTPSWDE - Eupen - Hydropower plant S E C T O R SBalteau’s activities span five sectors: municipal waste water, pumping, drinking water, infrastruc-ture and industry. Each sector takes charge of commercial initiatives, studies and price offers, while the performance of the work is carried out by the teams dedicated to the sector.Sector managers and engineers with own ad-vanced expertise may assist our clients in the de-velopment of tailored solutions. This specialisation of our teams by sector enables us to offer innovative solutions and to adapt conti-nuously to the needs of the market. The five sec-tors derive a threefold advantage from the inte-gration of their processes: proximity to potential clients, expertise and feedback on experience. This structure is particularly suited to specific fields of activity requiring in-depth technical knowledge and a high degree of reactivity. There are of course numerous interconnections between the departments and each sector makes use of Balteau’s general resources (estimates, assembly, design office, general services, etc.).s E C T o R sApprovals n Class 8, Category Vn Class 7, Sub-category L2n Class 7, Sub-category P2n Class 5, Sub-category S2n Class 5, Sub-categories P1 – P3 – S1n Class 5, Sub-category K1n Class 4, Sub-category L1provisional approvals n Class 6, Category Kn Class 7, Sub-categories C2 - K2 *n Class 8, Sub-category K3 *Certifications The company has been VCA**certified since July 2007.
