MAGNAPAK® Brochure (Asia Pacific)

Designed specifically for throughputs of 100 kL/day to 1200 kL/day. These preassembled, skid-mounted units allow for quick, cost-effective installation at small water treatment and industrial processing plants.MagnaPak® System DetailsDOC/Contaminant RemovalRaw water is fed to the base of the reactor vessel where an agitator keeps the resin and water uniformly mixed to remove DOC or other contaminants. Tube settlers at the top of the reactor vessel separate the resin from the treated water. Treated water overflows into collection launders and to downstream treatment processes.MIEX® Resin RegenerationLoaded resin is continuously removed and replaced with fresh resin, allowing the treatment process to operate continuously. Regeneration involves mixing the MIEX® Resin with a brine (salt) solution to remove the DOC/contaminant ions from the resin. MIEX® Resin is regenerated in the resin regeneration vessel using an automated batch process (2 to 3 hours).Treatment BenefitsDue to the flexibility of its placement in the treatment train and its continuous ion exchange process, the MagnaPak® System offers many benefits over other treatment alternatives. The resin is not typically impacted by suspended solids and as such, can be used in various locations throughout the treatment train. When used upfront of existing treatment processes, many downstream benefits may be observed due to a reduced contaminant load. Since the system utilises a continuous ion exchange process, treated water quality is consistent and there is virtually no risk of contaminant breakthrough. The system also produces very low waste volumes of less than 0.1% of throughput.MagnaPak® Treatment Systems Packaged MIEX® PlantsThe MagnaPak® System is a packaged ion exchange system that uses MIEX® Resin to remove targeted species from water and wastewater streams. Budget estimates can also be provided upon request. Visit our website at www.miexresin.com or contact your nearest Orica Watercare office for more information or to inquire about a specific application.Key Benefits • Small footprint• Simple and reliable operation• Modular design for additional capacities• Minimal energy requirements • Minimal waste production • Low installation costs• Low operating costs• Lease and financing options availableSafety, Health and EnvironmentSafety, health and environmentmanagement is a critical focus of OricaWatercare. These principles ensure thatMagnaPak® Systems are designedand manufactured to be safe and reliablewater treatment plants that areoperator friendly.Accreditation MagnaPak® Systems are supplied with ISO9001 accreditation. This accreditation covers all aspects of the project, including project management, design, procurement and construction, specifically designed for water treatment projects.Proven Performance Big Elk Meadows is a small community of about 300 people. The previous treatment process consisted of a 0.25 MLD microfiltration system & GAC filter for taste & odour removal. The treatment system resulted in distribution THM and HAA levels well in excess of the EPA Stage 1 limits. Within one-week from start-up of a MagnaPak® System, the Distribution System DBP levels were significantly reduced to well below the USEPA Standards.Cedar Key WTP was identified by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection as a major offender of the Stage 1 Disinfection By-Products Rule (DBPR) from 2003 to 2006. A MagnaPak® System was commissioned in November 2006 and DBP levels at Cedar Key, FL have been brought back into compliance.Orica Watercare Head Offices Asia Pacific T 61-3-9665-7111 F 61-3-9665-7937 USA Toll Free 1-877-414-miex T 303-268-5243 F 303-268-5250 Europe T 44-1257-256-616 F 44-1257-256-149E miex@orica.com www.miexresin.comEquipment Brochure MIEX® is a registered trademark of Orica Australia Pty.
