The internal room is cooled by a compressor unit powered by a battery or from 230V mains. It is equipped with wheels and a robust handle for easy manipulation in terrain. The stationary version SIMPLY-SAMPler/stationary is installed in a two-component stainless cabinet with PUR foam insulation and thermostat-controlled environment. The pump area is protected against freezing .OPERATIONThe SOFT-SAMPler takes samples with a peristaltic pump. Power to the portable units is supplied by a maintenance-free lead accumulator located inside the unit. The sampling mode is stored in the Bond-OO-checK, which also indicates that the unit is in operation. The Bond–OO–checK contains a real-time circuit and it stores the sampling data, including the values of connected signals while the sampler is in operation. A single sample volume is set with the calibration button, which can also be used to carry out extra sampling outside the programmed schedule. The battery is charged before every use with a charger, which can be used as a power supply if a 230V/50Hz mains is available and all safety regulations are met. The charger must be protected in wet environment. The SOFT SAMPler / cooled version can be powered from 230V/50Hz mains or from an external battery POWER BOX 24V DC .The stationary version of the SOFT SAMPler is powered from 230V/50Hz mains .Samplers equipped with cooled or thermostat-controlled sample compartment (cooled and stationary versions) automatically keep the sample compartment temperature around +4°C (the cooled version only cools). The function is activated after the first successful sample taking and remains active until the Bond-OO-checK is disconnected.Note to the SOFT SAMPler / cooled sampler version:Always install the sampler in places protected against climate and direct sunlightWhen operating the sampler from an external POWER BOX, the battery discharge protection is enabled – it automatically disconnects the cooling unit if the voltage drops below 22.8 V .The cooling unit can be disabled by a switch on the panel, if necessary.Cooling unit error is indicated by the LED on the switch, displaying the type of error by the number of blinks:1x the battery has been disconnected due to voltage drop 2x damaged unit fan (power consumption exceeding 1 A)3x compressor motor start error (blocked rotor, or high pressure difference in the cooling system /exceeding 5 bar/)4x low compressor motor revolutions (the compressor runs, but it cannot reach the minimum number of revolutions of 1.850 rpm)5x activated heat fuse (cooling unit is too hot, or the surrounding temperature is too high / the unit is exposed to direct sunlight ) SW INSTALALTION AND USB SAMPler PROGRAMMING KITSTo set the sampling schedule parameters in the configuration connector, the SOFT SAMPler software must be installed in a PC running OS WINDOWS XP and higher.CAUTION Do not connect the USB SAMPler adapter before installing the SOFT SAMPler software1. Insert the SOFT SAMPler software CD in the PC. If the autorun fails, launch setup.exe from the CD .2. Follow the installation prompts. During the SW installation, drivers for the USB SAMPler adapter will be installed automaticallyHOW TO USE THE SOFT SAMPler SOFTWARE TO SET UP SAMPLER OPTIONSLaunch the SOFT SAMPler software and connect the USB SAMPler adapter. The bottom bar must display information about the connected adapter. Connect the Bond-OO-checK to the USB SAMPler adapter – and the current internal clock value will be displayed instead of „?“ next to the „Bond – OO – checK clock“. If it differs from the „PC clock“ settings, you may synchronize the time by pressing the „Set clock“ button. Note: The Bond-OO-checK internal clock is automatically adjusted to summer time according to rules used in central Europe.Use the „book„ icon on the top bar to read and display the Bond-OO-checK sampling mode settings. Enter the values to individual fields to set up the sampling mode parameters. The settings ranges for individual values will be displayed for 5 seconds when you place the cursor above the required field. The number of sampling impulses cannot be changed, it serves for informative displaying of the value after after calibration. For the sampler to take samples according to selected parameters you must use the “pencil” icon on the top bar to save the settings in the Bond-OO-checK memory. If you wish to save the setup parameters in the PC, click „FILE“ - Save.If you wish to use other than the default language version of the SOFT SAMPler software, go to „FILE“ - Settings.Use the „Bond-OO-checK data“ button to enter notes and comments, Bond-OO-checK serial number can be displayed as well.PROGRAM START SETTINGSThe program start can be set up in several modes – the current setting is displayed next to the „Program start“. Adjust the settings using the PROGRAM START button as follows:Start immediately: the program will take the first sample one minute after calibration.Start after delay: the program will take the first sample after a predefined period after calibration.Start at a time: the program starts sampling on a selected date and time.Start by scheduler:This feature serves for repeated sampling on any weekday in a month. You may select repeated sampling once per month, once a week, or every day, at a chosen time. If you select the mode using this method, you need to disconnect and re-connect the Bond-OO-Check after each program cycle (after you replace the bottles). Samplers with sample compartment air-conditioning (due to energy saving reasons) will not start air conditioning the compartment until the first sample has been taken and will continue to do so until the Bond – OO – checK is disconnected. SETTINGS AND COURSE OF THE SAMPLING CYCLEIn the preset moment (after a preset time, impulse from flow meter or button pressing) the sampler begins to take a sample. First, the hose is blown by the reverse operation of the pump. After the blowing, the hose can be rinsed up to five times (depending on the Bond-OO-Check settings), when the sampler sucks the sample up to the detector level and releases the water through the suction hose. Then the sample is sucked to the container through the detector. The sample volume depends on the number of pump revolutions set during calibration. Sampling is followed by holding, which enables emptying of the outlet hose. Eventually, the pump is reversed to release and blow the suction hose. This terminates one sampling cycle. Individual sampling phase times can be changed by re-programming of the Bond-OO-checK.This feature is available through the „timer“ icon on the top bar. In this window, you can set up the recorder feature, when the Bond-OO-checK records the values of connected signals and the sampler status even when no samples are being taken. Door opening can be recorded as well, if the door switch (the cooled standard version) is installed. In the „temperature“ window, you may switch from °C to °F.In this window, you may also set up the ranges of connected analog signals, including input signal calibration and values.SETTINGS FOR the TIME-DEPENDENT MODEFor this mode, select „sampling mode“ = TIME SAMPLING and set the interval between two samples - „Sampling Interval“ in the Time sampling window. The SOFT SAMPler samplers are equipped with automatic detection of the type of connected distributor. In the „Distributor capacity“ menu you may select the distributor type, if you select AUTO, the sampler will do it automatically. You may also set the „Bottles limit“, where you may sell the program to terminate with other than the last distributor bottle.Bottle filling can be divided into groups – then a group counts as a single bottle. Samples are taken in a single sequence into selected bottles in a group. The „Number of samples in a bottle“ defines after how many samples the bottle is to be replaced. Caution: While calibrating the sample volume, take into account the bottle volume and number of taken samples. Calculate the calibrated volume as follows: bottle volume / number of samples = a single sample volume.Several preprogrammed Bond-OO-Checks can be used for different time modes, or you may perform a new programming each time.SETTINGS FOR FLOW-PROPORTIONED SAMPLE VOLUMES This mode can only be used in connection with the analog flow meter output, connected to the 1 / FLOW analog input, which will govern the volume of individual samples, taken in regular time intervals. The settings are similar to the time mode, but also select „Enable flow-proportioned sample volumes“ and set the maximum flow at which the sample volume selected during calibration will be taken. The value can be lower than the 1/ FLOW analog input value range preset in the settings window.Caution: Volume required at the maximum flow is calibrated in this mode. For example, when you calibrate 1000ml with the maximum flow 500 l/s, the sample volume will be:0 l/s 0 ml100 l/s 200 ml200 l/s 400 ml300 l /s 600 ml400 l/s 800 ml500 l/s 1000 mlBottle filling is set up similarly as in the time mode, but take into account that the sample volume variesSETTINGS FOR THE FLOW VOLUME-DEPENDENT SAMPLING MODE A flow meter signal signal must be connected to the sampler in this mode. You may use either analog signal (0)4 – 20mA or pulse output. If you control the sampler via the no-voltage contact from the flow meter, the signal must be connected to the digital input of the sampler. In this mode, you must select „Sampling mode“= VARIABLE TIME SAMPLING BY DIGITAL INPUT. Then, in the „Flow meter pulses“ window, select the required number of received impulses to take one sample. If you wish to observe the maximum interval between individual samples, choose this option and set the required interval. Then, if the sampling interval exceeded the interval between samples chosen in the „Maximum interval“ due to low flow, the subsequent sample will be taken in the chosen interval.Filling and changing of bottles can be set according to samples count – we shall have a precise sample volume in the bottle, but the bottles may be filled sooner than we wish. In such case, choose the „time interval“, when the „sample count per bottle„ is the maximum samples to one bottle (protection against overfilling). If you control the sampler by flow meter analog signal, the signal must be connected to the 1 / FLOW sampler analog connector. In this mode, you must select „Sampling mode“= VARIABLE TIME SAMPLING BY ANALOG INPUT. Then, in the „Flow-proportional time intervals“ select “Flow maximum“ and „Samples rate“, i.e. the number of samples taken per hour at the maximum selected flow. If you wish to observe the maximum interval between individual samples, choose this option and set the required interval. Then, if the sampling interval exceeds the interval between samples chosen in the „Maximum interval“ due to low flow, the subsequent sample will be taken in the chosen interval.Filling and replacement of bottles can be set according to samples count – we shall have a precise sample volume in the bottle, but the bottles may be filled sooner than we wish. In such case, choose the „time interval“, when the „sample count per bottle„ is the maximum samples to one bottle (protection against overfilling).EVENT SAMPLING MODE SETTINGSThis mode can be combined with all the aforementioned modes, while you may select several types of events to launch the sampling. Select normal sampling mode and then open another window by clicking the „Event control“ button and choose from the following options:• Digital input = controlled by the signal connected to the „event“ input• Analog input = controlled by the signal connect to the II / EVENT analog input • Level sensor = controlled by the level sensor connected to the level sensor input • Temperature sensor = controlled by the signal from an external temperature sensor Digital input control settings:Run mode:„Run program on event“ - samples in the selected mode are taken only when the digital input is enabled – the contact is engaged.„Start program by event“ - after the digital input activation, the program will run till the end, although the signal has only been active shortly.„Event inversion“ – this option changes the status of digital input for event activation = contact engaged – event not active, contact open – event active.„Change bottle at event termination“ - when active, the bottle will be replaced (unlike the chosen mode) always after termination and origination of a new event, regardless of with how many samples (or for how long) it has been filled.„Delay“ (hysteresis) is the time between digital signal activation and sample taking initiation.„First flush fast sampling“ makes it possible to take, after event initiation, the selected number of samples in intervals that differ from the normal preset sampling. You may also disable variable volume for the selected number of samples (if previously selected).Settings event for control via II/EVENT analog input:The settings are similar to the settings described for the digital input, but you also need to select the bottom and top limit of the analog signal for event activation. For example, if you set the bottom limit to 30 and the top limit to 60, the event will only be active when the signal value is between 30 and 60. If you select „Event inversion“, the event will be active from 0 to 30 and from 60 to 100. This setting is used for example for pH meter signal event control. Other features and settings are identical with the digital input procedures.Settings for control via the level sensor:This option is activated by engaging of level electrodes connected to the sampler input. Other features and settings are identical with the digital input procedures.Settings for event control via temperature sensor:This option is activated when a preset temperature is reached by the external temperature sensor connected to the sampler input. Other features and settings are identical with the digital input procedures.REMOTE CONTROL OPTIONSIf you need to control the sampler features by external signals (take sample, change bottle, go to bottle 1) while recording the course of sampling, set the sampling mode to: EXTERNÍAL CONTROL. Inputs for this control option are not occupied in a standard manner. This option is used in DUO SOFT SAMPlers for the left unit in parallel sampling.DUO SOFT SAMPLER OPTIONSThe DUO SOFT SAMPler has two independent sampling units and it can be used for sampling to two containers, or to a single shared container. The advantage of this version consists in the fact that it can take samples from two different points, e.g. from two sewer outlets (chutes), from two different depths, or before and after the rain separator, or it can take parallel samples from a single sampling points into two bottles, e.g. plastic and glass, or using different preservatives. Each sampling unit can be controlled independently by the Bond-OO-checK with a corresponding sampling mode. In this case, launching of individual sampling units is identical with the standard version of SOFT SAMPler. The switch under the left Bond-OO-checK socket must be in 0 position If you demand synchronous (parallel) sampling (volumes may differ), you may use a single Bond-OO-checK to control the sampler (the other can be used, if programmed to -EXTERNAL CONTROL- to record the left unit sampling). The launching sequence is as follows: Make sure the switch under the left Bond-OO-checK socket is in 0 position. Then connect the Bond-OO-checK with a downloaded program to the left sampling unit socket and calibrate the unit. Then connect the Bond-OO-checK with preprogrammed sampling mode to the right sampling unit socket and calibrate it. After a successful calibration, turn the switch to position I. As a result, samples will be taken by both sampling units identically, according to a mode saved in the Bond-OO-checK connected to the right sampling unit (including manual sampling). If you do not wish to record the left sampling unit sampling, parallel sampling can be done with only one Bond-OO-checK connected.Proceed as follows: make sure the switch at the left Bond-OO-checK socket is in position 0. Connect Bond-OO-checK in a preprogrammed sampling mode to the left sampling unit and wait for the calibration button to extinguish (do not calibrate) – this will store the required cycles in the sampler memory (blowing times, etc.) and disconnect the Bond-OO-checK. Then connect the Bond-OO-checK in a preprogrammed sampling mode to the right sampling unit socket and calibrate it. After a successful calibration of the right unit, turn the switch to position I and when the calibration button goes on, calibrate the left sampling unit. SAMPLING RECORDSAfter the end of sampling, the recorded data can be read from the Bond -OO-checK and the values can be displayed. Connect the Bond-OO-checK to a PC by clicking the „book“ icon in the SOFT SAMPler software. Display the downloaded values by clicking th „table“ icon. Individual records are accompanied by real time, message and the I/FLOW a II/EVENT input analog signal value + inside/outside temperature. This standard feature can be used in connection with a measuring device to build MONITORING STATION. Individual messages have the following meaning:SAMPLE sample taken successfully(software controlled)MANUAL sample taken successfully (manual)REMOTE sample taken successfully (remote)MISSING sample cannot be taken – samples per bottle exceeded (only during sample count control by flow)BOTTLE 1 move to the first bottle (via remote control)BOTTLE NEXT move to the next bottle (via remote control)CALIBRATION calibration successful LOGGER periodic data loggingEVENT an event occurredNOEVENT an event ended CLEAR BOC deleted (only from PC)INSERT BOC inserted START start sampling sequence (after initial waiting, DOUT2/PROGRAM signal activates at the same time)EXPIRATION start at a specific hour has been missed – sampling will not startSTOP end of sampling sequence (DOUT2/PROGRAM signal deactivates at the same time)EXHAUST bottle count complete (BOC reports that samples were taken, new BOC programming or BOC connect/disconnect is required)TIMEOUT sample sucking time limit exceeded (also during washing before sampling)DISABLED sampling disabled (by the remote control signal)NO BOTTLE bottle cannot be chosen – distributor error NO CALIBRATION sampler has not been calibratedPOWER sampler power outage (battery empty)OPEN door open (if logging is enabled) OPTION CLOSED door closed (if logging is enabled) OPTIONCORRUPTED faulty or corrupted log (due to unexpected power outage, BOC removal, etc.)SAMPLER INSTALLATIONThe sampler must be installed as close to the sampling location as possible. When installed outdoors, the unit must be placed on a level and solid location away from direct sunlight. The suction hose between the sampler and the sampling location must have a constant gradient. Otherwise the hose may get clogged or freeze. The suction hose must be equipped with a screen against rough impurities.Depending on the selected mode, connect either Bond-OO-checK or the control cable. Calibrate the sample volume immediately afterwards. Tighten the connector with a cap nut. Close unoccupied connectors with caps. Secure the unit against flooding.Note on the SOFT SAMPler / economy version:Install the sampler vertically (with the handle facing up) or protect it against rain.Note on the SOFT SAMPler / mobile version:Install the sampler to prevent possible tipping over by wind gusts. You may hang it on a guiding rail by hook, or did you may lean it against the wall.SAMPLE VOLUME CALIBRATIONSince the sample volume is affected by the suction height and gradual wear of the hose, the sample volume must be set first – it is calculated from the number of required samples and the sample container volume (container volume: number of samples = sample volume). The volume is set immediately after the configuration connector (switching of control cable contact) using a measuring glass After connecting, the calibration button lights up for 10 seconds. During this time, keep the button depressed until the required volume is sampled and then release it immediately. The sampler blows the hose and the button goes off. The required mode is ready. During the calibration, the unit saves the number of required pump revolutions since the moment of sample detector switching until the button is released. This value will be used to measure the volume until the next calibration. If you do not carry out the calibration, the value from the previous calibration stored in the Bond – OO - checK will be used. Stationary units will also keep the previous sample volume. ?WARNING: If you change the suction height, the volume changes Therefore we recommend calibrating before each sampling. (Calibration starts with blowing, but there will be no rinsing.)After calibration, we recommend manual sampling to verify correct volume settings and operability. Manual sampling is not included in the preset number of samples required to terminate the program controlled by the configuration connector.?Caution:For correct sampler functioning, the level detector must be kept clean. Disconnect the sucking hose from the detector hose with two stainless electrodes and it can be cleaned – preferably with a test tube cleaning brush.MANUAL SAMPLINGWhen a program is running, you may take a sample outside the preset mode by pressing the calibration button. The button lights up during this "manual" sampling.SAMPLER OPERATION INDICATORSVarious sampler statuses are indicated by the Bond – OO – checK LED. It flashes in blue when storing the data in the memory. It shines green when the connector is attached during calibration. If it shines red after connecting, it is defective. During sampling, the LED blinks green in 1s intervals. If no sample has been taken within the preset time (the liquid detector does not switch on), the LED turns red.Bond-OO-checK LED statuses 1. No LED is on - power off (program finished)2. Green LED flashing - power on (program active)3. Red LED on for 5s - invalid BOC data / internal EEPROM4. Red LED flashing for 5s - start time is over5. Red and blue (violet) LEDs flashing for 5s - bottle cartridge missing 6. Red and green (orange) LEDs are on for 5s - faulty calibration7. Red after green flashing - run -no sample or no bottleMAINTENANCEAll sampler parts that come into touch with the sample must be rinsed and washed after sampling.Store the portable samplers with charged battery – or connected to a charger with disconnected Bond – OO – checK.PUMP HOSE REPLACEMENTUSE ONLY ORIGINAL SPARE PARTSThe pump hose wears during use. We recommend replacement after approx. 1000 hours in operation, or after six months.Removal:- press the black slider (22), which moves on the assembly board, to free the cassette - remove the cassette from the motor shaft, release the hoses to detector and outlet?CAUTION: the sucking hose tube contains the liquid detector and the tube is attached to the holder – it cannot be removed like the outlet tube -press the four clamps on the lid (40) to open the cassette -remove the roller carrier (70) with three rollers (60) from the pump body (50)Installation:-the motor shaft and the rollers must be in a good condition -clean the rollers and cassette case from the hose remnants using isopropyl alcohol only (IPA) - worn parts result in pump power loss -contact surfaces between the shaft and the rollers must be clean and grease-free -clean the motor shaft with dry sand paper, along the shaft axis .-install the hose fasteners (80) on the hose (90) 222 mm (± 2 mm) from one another?Caution: make sure the hose curve is preserved. Both fasteners (80) must be set on the hose (90) in the same direction. Fasteners turned against each other twist the hose and thus decrease its life.- insert the hose with the fasteners in the pump body (50). Insert the fasteners (80) in the body grooves (50).- insert the triangular section of the roller carrier (70) between both vertical hose sections (90) so that one tip is in between. Install a roller on the pin (60). Turn by 2 x 120°. After each turning install another roller (60). Close the carrier by installing its other part. Turn the roller carrier so that all rollers are in touch with the hose- install the cassette lid (40) and press to lock- install the cassette on the motor shaft and connect to the sample detector Warning: - do not damage the motor shaft roller when installing the cassette - secure the cassette with the black slider (22)Check:Test for leaking. Worn rollers and motor shaft may cause leaking. The entire pump head may be replaced as well.BATTERY RYPLACEMENT:Use only original spare partsIf the battery capacity is insufficient for the required number of samples, or the charger signalizes battery failure, the battery must be replaced.- open the sampler cabinet - release the battery Velcro strip, remove the battery and disconnect the leads– connect the new battery and insert in the sampler–?Caution: observe the terminals polarity red = +, black / blue = - . FUSE RAPLACEMENTA blown fuse may indicate a serious fault – consult with the manufacturer before replacement. We do not recommend replacing the fuse during the warranty period. If the fuse located in the sampler on the battery lead blows, replace with the same T type DO NOT USE F TYPETECHNICAL DATASOFT SAMPler ECONOMY BOXED MOBILE COOLED STATIONARYcabinet PP- copolymer PP- copolymer PP- copolymer PE-HD INOXThermostat control OPTIONExternal cooling boxOPTION external cooling boxOPTION – passive – additional isolationOnly cooling YesControl Microprocessor unit with external EEPROM memory (Bond-OO-checK)Programming From PC with OS WIN XP and higher using SW SOFT SAMPler and USB SAMPler programming setSampling mode Time, volume, flow, eventInterval 1 min – 15 hoursBottle filling 1 – 255 samples – or continuous Memory 1 uploaded programControl Calibration button after connection of BOC,or by external signalindication LED on the BOC – flashes/ shines, 3 colors combinedInputs 2 x analog 0(4) – 20 mA – no galvanic separation / 4 x digital – potential-free contactPeristaltic pump, pumping hose made of NORPREN, 9.5 mm diameterSucking height Max. 7 m – supplied sucking hose 5 m / 10 mm diameterSampling containerOPTION OPTION 6.3l / PE 15l / PE 15l / PEPower supply Battery 12V/12Ah Battery 12V/ 9Ah Battery 12V/ 9Ah / OPTION external supply230V/12V 5A230V/ 50Hz / external POWER BOX 24V/ 20Ah230V / 50HzDimensions (cm) 30 x 20 x25 28 x 18 x 26 35 x 23 x 57 40 x 50 x 65 63 x 66 x 107Weight ( kg ) 6,6 5,7 11,5 16 90 INTRODUCTION SAFETY PROPERTIES Description of SOFT-SAMPler / cooled Description of SOFT-SAMPler / stationary Description of DUO SOFT-SAMPler / ...
