They can be got in different variations from Stirred-Fermenter, Fixed-Bed-System for cell cultivation, Fluidized-Bed-Fermenter, Mini-Fermenter and Airlift system. Their volumes can be varied from 50 ml up to 20 Litre, completely automated with central control unit and many cultivation possibilities. Culture vessels • As single and double vessel with separable double vessels, vessel openings on same level with special lid, low overall height, and small diameters for space-saving assembly in multi systems. • Working volumes can be varied in the ratio of 1:10 at volumes of 50 ml up to 100 or 250 ml for the inner vessels and 500 or 1000 ml for the outer vessel, respectively. Other volumes are 2.0 / 5.0 / 10.0 to 20.0 l • Conversion of culture vessels for cell cultivation is possible as Fixed-Bed, Fluidized Bed, and Stirred Fermenter, Miniature Reactor or separable double casing vessel. Each model may be used as a convert able basis. They work completely automatically and are equipped with stirrer, magnet clutch, probes and fittings. They can be converted with few basic components easily into fixed bed system (2 and 6), fluidized bed or airlift Fermenter (7). The converted bioreactors as a Fixed-bed system can be used in the medical research and pharmaceutical industry for the cultivation of adherent, humane and animal cells, or as airlift or fluidized bed Fermenter in the cultivation of shear stress sensitive cells. The mini-bioreactors (4) are standard models and be offered with double vessel coats for the cultivation of the insensitive cells. The mini-bioreactors stand out due to separable double coat with a short gap, high lid occupancy density and space-saving forms in multi systems. The special feature of these bioreactors is the saving of expensive nursing media with the same cell yield results by low height and small diameter of the inner vessel. The mini bioreactors can be sent as 0.5 or 1 Litres of standard instruments. The system is used in the production of monoclonal antibodies, cultivation of adherent and recombinant cells and the use in the cell-physiological studies of tissue cells such as tumour cells, primary cells, stem cells, liver and kidney cells. The fixed-bed system is equipped with the needed measurement and control engineering, probes and sensors, peristaltic pumps, gas supply, control program and computer for the saving, evaluation and transfer of the data to other computers. The fixed-bed reactors are made of Duran glass and are fitted space-saving in the middle of a compact 1.5 l media conditioning vessel. The conditioning vessel is made of Duran glass also. This makes possible to watch, to steer and to check the development of the cell cultivation better. The lid, the in- and exits are made of insensitive Peek material to protect the sensitive cells from damages by free metal molecules from the usual metal lids. The fixed-bed material consists of highly porous glass sinter pearls or another suitable carrier material and is in the fixed-bed reactors. The cells are transferred to the surface of the carrier material in the fixed-bed reactors.
