Its identity and usage rights are checkedagainst the Customer Data Base. The client then specifies the day and city or location to be investigated. Ageographic map covering the corresponding region is generated on the fly, and lightning data is extractedfrom the Lightning Data Base for the region and time period. The result is formatted as a GIF image anHTML page that is send to the user’s browser. A list of flashes is also available.A log of connections is archived for statistical analysis or customer management.
