Micro-X - SV, P or T - Using Field-Swappable Sensors Brochure

SV, P or T using Field-Swappable SensorsMicro•Xconductivity / sound velocity / pressure / temperatureThe Micro•X is a real-time, single parameter instrument that allows you to field-swap the instrument’s sensor-load. Unlike other X•Series instruments, the Micro•X is sensor specific, meaning that sensor type cannot be changed. However, within a given sensor type, range can be swapped, a feature that is particularly useful in depth measurement applications. Moreover, a sensor-head with an outdated calibration can be swapped with a sensor-head that has been recently recalibrated. Field-swappable sensor-heads streamline the recalibration process: instead of sending the entire instrument back to a recalibration centre, calibrated sensor-heads can be sent to the instrument. Changing sensors is easy: simply unscrew one sensor-head and replace it with another. Like all other X• Series instruments, the Micro•X usesXchangeTM field-swappable sensors. This means that sensor-heads can be shared with other instruments, regardless of instrument size or type. Total flexibility – of instrument model, of sensor type, and of sensor range – ensure that the right instrument is alwaysavailable.Designed for integration applications such as AUV or ROV work, the Micro•X with a sound velocity sensor is also effective for sea surface sound velocity applications. The Micro•X offers high-speed 25Hz sampling, ensuring excellent data resolution. Right instrument always ready: • Calibrated sensors are shared amongst all X•Series instruments, ensuring that the right instrument is always field-ready. Reduced downtime: Recalibrated • sensors sent to the instrument means the instrument never leaves the field for recalibration. Reduction in transport and logistics • costs: Instruments can be recalibrated without return to a calibration centre. Greater system redundancy: Mobility • of sensor-heads and modularity of instruments minimizes the risk of downtime on the vessel. Streamlined management: Less • time spent administering instrument recalibration and certification requirements.Xchange™ Field Swappable Sensors: Unlike other X•Series instruments, the Micro•X is sensor specific, • meaning that sensor type cannot be changedField-swap any sensor with another sensor of its own kind, • regardless of range Each Xchange™ includes its own embedded calibration• Sensors exchange without use of tools • Electrical:Up to 25 scans per second• Factory Set RS232 or RS485• Externally Powered 8-26 VDC• Sampling Modes:User configurable (by time, by pressure, by sound speed)• Mechanical:Housing: Delrin to 500 m or Titanium to 10,000 m• Size: 33 mm (1.3”) diameter x 246 mm (9.5”) OAL• Connectors: Micro 6, Female• Storage Temperature: -40• oC to 60oCOperating Temperature: -20• oC to 45oCAccessories:Instrument suspension bar• Instrument protection frame• Mounting brackets• Data/Power cable, various lengths 2m and greater• Range1375 to 1625 m/sUp to 6000 dBar-2 to 32oCAccuracy+/-0.025 m/s+/-0.05%FS+/-0.005oCResponse47 microseconds10 milliseconds100 millsecondsResolution0.001 m/s0.02%FS0.001oCParameterSV•XchangeTMP•XchangeTMT•XchangeTMPrecision+/-0.006 m/s +/-0.03%FS+/-0.003oCXchangeTMX•Series instruments do not come with sensor-heads; please order them separately.Other ranges are available; please contact factory.
