OHES were appointed to provide independent environmental health sampling and analysis for indicator organisms commonly associated with sewage to confirm if clean up work had been successful or if properties were still contaminated. A fast response was particularly important because some of the residents were at risk from infections because they had a lowered immune system. OHES confirmed that some of the properties were unaffected allowing early re-occupation whilst a number of properties were still contaminated. We arranged immediate, bespoke decontamination of the areas affected, arranged re-sampling of the area and issued a certificate of sanitisation to indicate the property was clean.
