Microfiltration Membranes allow water and dissolved ions, to pass through, but stop suspended solids down to particle sizes as small as 0.1 microns. ? Microfiltration produces water free of most suspended solids and turbidity. ? Purified bacteria and virus free water for applications such as drinking water, wash water and process water with addition of UV Sterilizers ? Juice clarification by MF processing produces clear juice while allowing water and sugar to flow through the membranes. Wastewater Recycling ? Wastewater recycling and reuse can be accomplished with properly designed MF systems to allow dramatic reduction in waste water disposal costs. ? Wastewater concentration allows the contaminated water which needs do be disposed of to be quite concentrated to reduce disposal costs. Microfiltration is often suited for pretreatment of water before entering other Wastewater recycling membrane processes such as Reverse Osmosis. Treatment allows the contaminated feed which contains suspended solids, particles, metal waste, etc to be removed and very concentrated to reduce disposal costs and protects the expensive R/O membranes from permanent damage by contamination.
