Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and Industry & Chairman of Dubai Municipalitywww.wastesummit.comWaste OpportunitiesSupported bySales and Sponsorship InformationOrganised byActivities at MEWS 2010 prompted stories in major newspapers across the UAE....The Opportunity The EventRapid urbanisation, high population growth rates, diversified cultures, floating populations and high consumption have brought about significant waste management challenges to many cities within the GCC region. Not least, because these countries collectively produce more than 120 million tonnes of waste every year.A study released at the 2010 Summit by Frost & Sullivan found that the UAE generated 22 per cent of the waste produced in the Gulf countries last year, second only to Saudi Arabia. Now in its third year, the Middle East Waste Summit is an initiative developed with Dubai Municipality and the Government of Dubai to help create and support an efficient waste and recycling industry so the UAE can address its rising amounts of waste in a sustainable manner. The Summit serves as a unifying venue for addressing the region’s waste problems and seeks to engage the world’s leading industry experts, government officials, project managers and environmentalists in in-depth presentations, debates and private meetings for two days to help find solutions for the region’s most pressing waste and recycling management challenges. We are now looking for companies to exhibit who have solutions and services to help deliver innovative waste management solutions to the region. The Middle East Waste Summit has quickly established itself as the premier networking event for any company seeking opportunities within the region, with 23% of attendees in 2010 being Government representatives or operating at Chairman, President, Vice President, CEO or Managing Director level – the decision makers are there to listen, debate policy and make contacts to implement strategies. The Summit Exhibition will provide 100 leading companies with the opportunity to showcase their latest services and solutions to leading purchasers in the region.Keynote conference sessions each morning will give delegates the opportunity to hear from leading industry experts addressing issues of strategy, implementation and best practice.A programme of round table debates each afternoon will give attendees the chance to tackle topics in depth, discuss specific applications and ask questions in small groups.ExhibitTake a stand to showcase products and hold private meetings SponsorPromote your brand to investors in waste management and recycling initiativesSpeakShare a platform with leading experts or host a round table session of your ownPromoteBecome part of the Summit campaign through a media partnership with usKeep up the great work, I was very impressed with the professional and top level organisation from start to finish.
