The liquid flows from the outside of the filter element and the solids are collected on the outside of the wedge wire screen. The cleaning process is as follows: The gear motor turns the cylinder shaped filter cartridge and the scrapper blade removes the solids from the surface. The solids remain in the lower parts of the filter housing. When the valve is open will the solids be pressed outside by the pressure in the system.
