Shafted screw conveyors consists of an Archimedean screw, created by welding a helicoid screw flighting to a central shaft driven by a power transmission, rotating inside a trough carrying material loaded through one or more hoppers, to one or more outlet spouts (eventually provided by sliding valves). The screw is supported by end bearings, provided with sealing units (if necessary), and a number of intermediate hanging bearings depending on the overall length of the machine. The trough shape can be tubular, `U` shaped or `V` shaped.
