Models CP, OP and TP - Suspended Permanent Magnets Brochure
SB300 UK5Suspended permanentmagnetic separators oroverband magnets arepositioned over movingconveyor belts or in a chute for the purpose ofremoving ferrouscontaminants from bulk product flows.Suspended Permanent MagnetsModels CP, OP and TPMagnet Strength(ULH]?RIIHUV?WKUHH?SHUPDQHQW?PDJQHWLF?ILHOG?FRQfigurations, CP,?OP and TP,?providing different?field strengths and field profiles.?Our highly trained Application?Engineering staff will recommend?the best model for each specific?model.CP ~ ideal for mobile crushersand steel can separation.OP ~ suitable for separatingsmaller tramp metal.TP ~ designed for applicationssuch as removing nailsfrom conveyed shreddedwood.Eriez also offers an extensiverange of SuspendedElectromagnetic Separators (ref SB 320).Magnet SelectionThe model of magnetic separatorto be selected is dependent uponthe specific application. EriezEngineers would need thefollowing information todetermine the optimal size andconfiguration for a particularrequirement:l Material typel Material bulk densityl Material conditionl Material sizel Type and minimum size oftramp ironl Maximum lump sizel Conveyor belt/chute widthl Conveyor belt speedl Conveyor belt/chutedimensions and inclinel Angle of ‘troughing’ idlersl Machinery to be protectedl Head pulley diameterl Head pulley materialApplicationsQuarry industryRecycling industryAny other industry where dryferrous contamination is foundon a conveyor belt or chutesystem®Magnet InstallationPosition 1 -Over head pulleyTo achieve maximum separation efficiency, asuspended magnet should be placed immediatelyabove the trajectory of material leaving the beltconveyor as shown.Position 2 -Across Conveyor BeltThe magnet can also be placed across theconveyor belt. This position normally requires astronger magnet, as separation of metal out of astatic burden is more difficult. Raised, or rappingidlers under the conveyor belt can assist in freeingtrapped iron.MC-2 Manual Cleaning - Position 2 MC-1 Manual Cleaning - Position 1SC-1 Self Cleaning - Position 1 SC-2 Self Cleaning - Position 2 Non-magneticHead PulleyProduct (Feed)ConveyorProductTramp IronPole endsSuspended magnetAdjustable splitterProduct(Feed)Non-magneticHead PulleyProductConveyorTramp IronPole endsSplitterTrailing edge ofmagnet boxaligned withouter edge ofidlerMagnet CleaningExtracted ferrous metals must be removed fromthe magnet face - the unit’s separation efficiencywould otherwise be impaired by an accumulationof metals on the magnet face. There are twoavailable options for cleaning the magnet.Manual Cleaning (MC)For low levels of ferrous contamination, themagnet can be manually cleaned by wiping themagnet face. This can be easily done with astripper plate (optional extra)Self Cleaning (SC)A moving continuous belt surrounds the magnetbox. Ferrous material attracted by the magnet isheld on the belt, as the belt moves clear of themagnetic field, ferrous materials fall away undergravity into bins for collection and disposal.Optional ExtrasFlame-proof motors, special belts, speed sensitiveswitches, belt tracking devices and extensionmagnets are all available as options to suit specificrequirements.Centre lineEriez Magnetics Europe LimitedEuropean Manufacturing, Designand Test Laboratory HeadquartersGreenway, Bedwas HouseIndustrial Estate, Bedwas,Caerphilly, CF83 8YG, UKT: +44 (0)29 2086 8501F: +44 (0)29 2085 1314E: eriez@eriezeurope.co.ukwww.eriez.comMANUFACTURING AFFILIATES IN: AUSTRALIA BRAZIL CHINA INDIA JAPANMEXICO SOUTH AFRICA USABath Design Centre 0809®Suspended magnet
