monitoring river level with SmartScan50

 _____________________________________________________________________________________ Solid Applied Technology Ltd    www.SolidAT.com info@solidgroup.com    1    2009  Flood prevention solution installed in Indiana USA   SolidAT ultrasonic level sensors were deployed as part of early warning water level solution in Munster, Indiana  USA.  The  overall  solution,  including  cellular  based  reports  and  control  room  software  was provided by our partner ommyx. ommyx's solution offers  town officials with  the ability  to check  river level conveniently via a web site. Alerts are disseminated when  the river reaches a warning  level or a critical level.    Our SmartScan50 system was selected for the project. SmartScan50 is a highly stable level sensor, with a range  of  12  meters  and  fit  for  outdoor  operations.  SmartScan50  is  a  two  part  system,  allowing separation between of  the  transducer  from  the  control unit. Compact  transducers were  attached  to bridges  above  the  river.  Control  units  were  located  up  to  100  meters  away  from  the  bridge  at  a sheltered  location  together with ommyx's GSM  transmitter and power  supply. SmartScan50  supports digital communication (ModBus) for communicating with the GSM transmitter.    A  recently  new  feature  of  SmartScan50  provides  alerts  when  specific  conditions  exist  such  as  rapid change in the target level.     The Munster project  is  yet  another  example of our products  deployed  for  flood  alerts  and  reservoir management. Our products are now installed all the way from India to Indiana.     Sensor control unit and GSM transmitter  Transducer over the river
