DIMODELMULTIPLE DIVERTER DAMPERThe DI model is a multiple diverter damper, avalve in a T shape which allows the flow from aninlet to be diverted to one or two outlets, forassembly between flanges on gas conduit systems.The ORBINOX standard multiple diverter model isdesigned for operation at pressures of up to 500mbar, with recommended speeds of 30 m/s andtemperatures of up to 800ºC.It is a relatively air tight valve with a closing degreeof between 90% and 99% which can reach 100%if an air sealing system is included (see DI3).The standard model of these multiple diverter dam-pers is designed so that the assembly is carried outin such a way that the drive shafts always remainin a horizontal position, although there is anoption of assembly with the shafts in a verticalposition on request.STANDARD MULTIPLE DIVERTER DAMPER (DI)DescriptionThe multiple diverter damper is made up of twodiscs which rotate around their own shaft, andwhich are mechanically joined in such a way thatwhen one route is open, the other closes. The mul-tiple diverter damper is normally supplied as a sin-gle part, except for applications in which thedimensions of the unit require special transport.ConstructionThe body of the multiple diverter damper is a fabri-cated construction which can be made of differentmaterials. The standard construction range inclu-des diameters ranging from 150 mm (minimum) to2000 mm although, on request, larger sizes canbe constructed.Multiple diverter damper discs are constructed flatwith reinforcing ribs and are supported on twosemi-shafts. The flat disc system is sufficiently rigidfor the operational pressures of these valves anddoes not cause significant losses.Seal designMultiple diverter dampers have two types of sealdesign. Depending on the application, the optionsare: swing-thru (closure from 90 to 97%) for envi-ronments with dust concentrations (less than 1000mg/Nm3); and the step seat (closure of 99%) sui-table for other applications requiring a high levelof air tightness.BearingsORBINOX supplies its multiple diverter damperswith the bearings situated on the outside and sepa-rated from the packing. This enables it to be keptaway from sources of heat and corrosion, thuslengthening its useful life. This system also allowsfor the changing of the packing without having toremove the bearing, which will make future main-tenance tasks easier.InsulationORBINOX supplies its valves prepared for anouter insulation of 200 mm. Theseal is created in the conduit between these twodiscs, injecting ambient air at a higher pressurethan that of the gases circulating in the conduits.This guarantees 100% air tightness on the sealedoutlet.It has the following actuators: on/off pneumaticactuator, pneumatic actuator with regulation, andelectric actuator. The sealing system is made up ofan electroventilator, a sealing valve, a dilationcompensator and a sealing pipe.
