More than sixty-five years ago, our founder, Vern Nedland, opened a welding repair shop. From that humble beginning, Nedland has grown to become the Midwest’s largest and most trusted waste management equipment manufacturer.

The Nedland family launches its first business

Vern Nedland launched his welding repair business—Nedland.

1945

Nedland moves into manufacturing

Vern began his foray into manufacturing, where his first products included eight and ten-ton wagons for the agricultural industry.

1950s

Nedland becomes Forage King

Nedland became Forage King Industries, and it added PTO-driven chopper boxes and manure spreaders to its product line.

1960s

The Nedland family sells its business

The Nedland family decided to take a little time away from manufacturing, and sold its interest in Forage King Industries.

1970s

The Nedland name graces another family business

Following in his father’s footsteps, Dave Nedland erected a new building in Ridgeland, WI and launched Nedland Welding & Machine Works—providing the same repair services Vern had offered 37 years earlier.

1982

Nedland moves into the waste equipment manufacturing space

Dave started to manufacture a line of UL-tested home heating wood furnaces.

That same year, the local garbage hauler asked Dave to manufacture rear-load containers.

That’s when things really took off.
Dave brought back the Nedland Industries name—and Vern even came out of retirement for a few years to help get the company off on the right foot.

That marked the end of the family’s wood-burning furnace line, as it shifted its focus to a 100% waste-related products business, manufacturing rear- and front-load containers, roll-off containers, stationary and self-contained compactors, and plastic containers, to name a few.

1983

Nedland launches Poly Dura Kans

Recognizing a market opportunity, Nedland designed and manufactured molds for the industry’s first 3 and 4 yard polyethylene front and rear load containers.

These lightweight dumpsters deliver exceptional durability and longevity—again, demonstrating Nedland’s commitment to superior quality products.

1990

Nedland purchases EZrolloff

Nedland made a strategic move; purchasing all of the assets and trademarks for the EZrolloff brand trailers and truck roll off systems.

Today, the company manufactures five trailer sizes and a single truck hoist system.

1999

The company welcomes the next generation of Nedlands

Nedland welcomed Dave’s son, Cory, to the company.

Now the VP, Cory will ensure the next generation of Nedlands will carry on the family business.
