PSA Technology is based onthe selective adsorption phenomena of gas molecules under pres-sure on the surface of highly porous and efficient adsorbent, Inthe case of Nitrogen Generation the Adsorbent is Carbon-basedMolecular Sieve. (C.M.S.) When compressed air is used for Nitrogen Generation, the adsorp-tion towers are filled with C.M.S. The molecules of oxygen, mois-ture & other unwanted gases are adsorbed on the surface ofC.M.S. Nitrogen which is not adsorbed by C.M.S. passes throughthe adsorption tower and is collected in a surge vessel. For continuous generation of nitrogen multiple adsorption towers areprovided and are operated with auto change-over valves con-trolled by a PLC. After saturation of one tower with oxygen theprocess automatically changes over to the next tower and thusthe nitrogen production is continuous.
