Ecologix Environmental Systems, LLC 5100 Old Ellis Point, Roswell, GA 30076 2 HEALTH AND SAFETY Ozone can be an irritant and a powerful oxidizing agent. As with most products, ozone is dangerous only when used improperly, as such it is important to follow safe usage guide lines. *When doing a shock treatment, no people plants or pets may be in the room when the unit is running. *The room should not be re-entered until all ozone has been depleted unless proper breathing respirators are used. MAINTENANCE FREQUENCY Under heavy-duty use or severely polluted areas, the ozone generator filter should be inspected and cleaned if necessary every 2 or 3 weeks. Inspect the UV tubes for fine dust or residue collecting on UV generator tube surfaces. Light-duty use requires cleaning every 2 to 6 months depending on the severity of pollution in the feed air. In dirty conditions cleaning can be as often as 4-6 weeks. DESCRIPTION OF OZONE GENERATOR These ozone generators produce ozone by UV light, converting normal oxygen to ozone gas which is a very strong oxidizing agent used to destroy odors and other organic contaminants. PLACEMENT OF UNIT This ozone generator is designed as a portable commercial deodorizing device. It uses 120 VAC for North America, and 220-240 VAC for European countries etc. European models come with an IEC connector and it is up to the customer to supply the proper cord (this can be acquired at any computer shop). PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING POINTS WHEN PLACING THE UNIT Place on a flat solid surface such as a table or shelf. Do not place on rug flooring to reduce dust entering the unit. Do not place in an area where the unit could be splashed with water, moisture or in an area that it could get flooded with water. Ensure that the unit gets proper fresh air flow. Do not obstruct the incoming or outgoing air from the unit. If used in temperatures below freezing, ensure that condensation inside the unit does not occur. Set the unit in an area where it will provide the best ozone distribution. The use of a circulation fan will greatly increase the efficiency of the treatment. 2700 - 6800 operation and maintenance instructions SETTING OF MACHINE (Refer to ozone application/usage instructions for more detailed instructions.) 1. Take all the tubes and use an alcohol-moistened paper towel or a lightly soap and water-moistened paper towel to wipe the tubes down and remove any deposits. If soap water is used then a second wiping with a clean water moistened paper towel will be required to remove the soap. -Be very careful not to damage the 2 wires that run the length of the tubes -Note that using alcohol will allow you to use the ozone generator as soon as it is re assembled. -If water is used for cleaning allow tubes to dry in a warm place for a couple hours, ensure that they completely dry. 7. If dirty, wipe the inside of the unit with an alcohol-soaked paper towel. 8. Remove the filter by grasping the retaining ring and simply pulling it off of the fan grill. 9. Replace the wire ties with new ones especially if the unit is to be shipped. Note that the wire ties are standard 3 1/2" wire (cable) ties available at your local lumber store. 11. Replace the lid and re-install the 18 lid screws. The unit is now ready for service. OCO-2700 – OCO-6800 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, ALL UNITS MUST BE PROTECTED FROM THE ELEMENTS. THE OCO SERIES GENERATORS WILL RUST AND CORRODE IF NOT PROTECTED. THE FOLLOWING WILL SHOW EXAMPLES OF HOW THIS IS DONE. Ecologix Environmental Systems, LLC 5100 Old Ellis Point, Roswell, GA 30076 6 Many of our satisfied customers are as satisfied as they are with the OCO Series generators because they bought or built a protective housing for the unit to keep it dry and away from corrosive materials. If this is done, the unit will last a lifetime without rust or corrosion. Here are some sample photographs of a typical installation method using a steel box much like a tool box in the bed of a pick-up truck. This unit is installed in Anchorage, Alaska. Anchorage is one location that rain and temperatures must be taken into consideration. This installation is for a pump station and was boxed and placed above ground where accessing the unit is easy. Any dry box such as a large plastic or steel tool box will serve as an exterior housing to keep the ozone generator dry and away from any harsh environment. The following illustration shows two methods of installing the OCO Series generator. Of course both of these methods must be followed up by placing the unit inside a protective casing or box.
