Mounting3.1 General mounting instructionsThe mounting dimensions are indicated on the rear of the component. The enclosure must not be used as an end stop. Any mounting position. The mounting position however must be chosen so that the ingress of dirt and soiling in the used opening is avoided. The unused openings must be sealed by means of slot sealing plugs (AZ 15/16 - 1476-1 available as accessory) after fitting.Mounting of the actuators: See mounting instructions actuators.3AZ 15 / AZ 16Operating instructionsSafety switchENPlease observe the remarks of the standards EN ISO 12100, EN 953 and EN 1088.The safety component and the actuator must be permanently fitted to the safety guards and protected against displacement by suitable measures (tamperproof screws, gluing, drilling, pinning).3.2 DimensionsAll measurements in mm.AZ 15 AZ 163052281887540M168ø5,5M1630522818890408ø5,5M16Front mounting4. Electrical connection4.1 General information for electrical connectionThe electrical connection may only be carried out by authorised personnel in a de-energised condition. The contact labelling can be found in the wiring compartment of the switch. For the cable entry, suitable cable glands with an appropriate degree of protection must be used. After wiring, dust and soiling must be removed from the wiring compartment. The safety switch is double insulated. The use of a protective ground connector therefore is not authorised.4.2 Contact variantsContacts are shown with safety guard closed.AZ 15ZVKAZ 15ZVRKAZ 15ZVK-STAZ 15ZVRK-ST11 121 2 3 411 12AZ 16ZVKAZ 16ZVRKAZ 16ZVK-STAZ 16ZVRK-ST132114221 2 3 421132214AZ 16-02ZVKAZ 16-02ZVRKAZ 16-02ZVK-STAZ 16-02ZVRK-ST112112221 2 3 421112212LED13 1415YE GN13141524 VDCL-L+YE GN5. Set-up and maintenance5.1 Functional testingThe safety function of the safety components must be tested. The following conditions must be previously checked and met:1. Check the free movement of the actuating element2. Check the integrity of the cable entry and connections3. Check the switch enclosure for damage5.2 MaintenanceA regular visual inspection and functional test, including the following steps, is recommended:1. Check the free movement of the actuating element2. Remove particles of dust and soiling3. Check cable entry and connectionsAdequate measures must be taken to ensure protection against tampering either to prevent tampering of the safety guard, for instance by means of replacement actuators.Damaged or defective components must be replaced.6. Disassembly and disposal6.1 DisassemblyThe safety switchgear must be disassembled in a de-energised condition only.6.2 DisposalThe safety switchgear must be disposed of in an appropriate manner in accordance with the national prescriptions and legislations.4Operating instructionsSafety switch AZ 15 / AZ 16ENAZ15-C-ENThe currently valid declaration of conformity can be downloaded from the internet at www.schmersal.net.7.1 EC Declaration of conformityName of the safety component: AZ 15 / AZ 16Description of the safety component: Positive break position switch with separate actuator for safety functionsRelevant EC-Directives: 2006/42/EC-EC-Machinery DirectivePerson authorized for the compilation of the technical documentation:Oliver WackerMöddinghofe 3042279 Wuppertal7.
