This work is carried out, under video surveillance, by robots that are remote-controlled from a command vehicle.By attaching various devices to the robot, substantial rehabilitation tasks can be carried out. These robots are also used to reopen the connections and branches after a pipe renovation. Accurate positioning is determined through the exact measurements by using a TV camera before the rehabilitation. Rehabilitation of Connections We repair defective connections using the so-called “Hat System”. In this procedure special hat-shaped pie-ces are impregnated with resin. Under video surveillance they are positioned in the connection to be repaired, pressed and cured. The result is a perfect integrated connection. We rehabilitate sewer pipes with dimensions of DN 200 – 500 mm and branches of DN 100 – 250 mm.Waste water pipes often have small damages such as root penetration, defect connections or small cracks. To get within a short time a fully functional waste water pipe, the spot repair technologies are suitable and are an excellent so-lution. r.tec® Partliner System Rabmer developed the r.tec® partliner system for the rehabilitation of partially defective pipe sections that are between 0.6 and 4 m long.With the help of a packer and TV camera, a fl exible tube that is impregnated with epoxy resin, is installed through existing control shafts, positioned at the defective area, pressed onto the existing pipe wall and cured. The system enables a seamless lining which sticks to the pipe without shrinking. During the installation process the resin enters into the defective pipe wall, which gives the wall extra stability. We use the system for the rehabilitation of sewer pipes with dimensions of DN 100 – 600 mm.
