Given that relevant team and project management underpins a successful approach to such a complex undertaking, we first start with a thorough assessment of our clients’ requirements and the conditions in which the project is to be conducted.Turn-key solutionsBeing a dedicated supplier to the aircraft maintenance sector, PEG continuously strives to provide solutions that are both fast, efficient, easy to operate and inexpensive to maintain. Our facilities are able to dock all the Airbus and Boeing fleet. The fact that we have uniquely served the industry leader in the maintenance overhaul sector for the past ten years has enabled us to acquire valuable experience in the design and building of all types of docking maintenance facilities let they be on wide or narrow bodied aircrafts.Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the site, logistics (delivery of equipment) and on-site works supervision. This allows us to offer our clients cost-effective solutions that are delivered and implemented on time and within budget.BenefitsReduced Operating CostsEnhanced Safety MeasuresMinimised Aircraft DowntimeOptimised Maintenance ProceduresOptimised Maintenance ProceduresOur cost effective solutions enable our clients to reduce the time spent on maintenance tasks and therefore minimise overall aircraft downtime.Reduced Operating CostsIn addition to the saving of time, our fully automated easy-to-use docks allow a decrease in the number of operating staff by 30%. To date, we offer maintenance docks that enable our clients to save 6 days for a complete D check overhaul of an Airbus A340-600 aircraft when compared to other more traditional docks.Enhanced Safety Measures Along with productivity, we pay special attention to the safety of the personnel and aircrafts being maintained on our docks. Our equipment complies with all the international safety norms and standards in use.Our Advantages • Compact design • Fast and easy docking • Enhanced aircraft accessibility • Heavy load capacity, which results in faster extraction of the aircraft inner parts • Maintenance staff is able to move easily across all docks as well as above and underneath the plane • Our design provides the required number of air- channels for pneumatic tools and painting facilitiesPEG designs are not just off-the-shelf products. We pride ourselves in interacting closely with our clients. The design process of our docking systems starts with a thorough evaluation of our clients’ requirements. PEG maintenance docks are fully automated and fully equipped. They feature, among others, tools, individual power supply and kerosene fume extractors. Moreover, our docks come either painted or fully galvanised, ATEX protected and compliant with the international standards:- DIN EN 1915-1 Basic Safety Requirements; - DIN EN 1915-2 Stability and strength requirements, calculations and tests methods; - DIN EN 12312-8 Maintenance stairs and platforms.Docking facilities supplied by PEG S.A. are manufactured under ISO 9001 quality procedures and meet all “Working at Height” and Health and Safety regulations worldwide.Universal Aircraft Maintenance FacilitiesOur universal fully functional wide body dock designOur universal fully functional narrow body dock designBuilding upon our long-standing experience in the construction industry for which PEG has designed and built mega storage halls, with storage capacities exceeding 150,000 cubic meters, as well as our numerous references in infrastructural projects, such as complete modernization of the lighting system of both landing and taxi ways at Geneva International Airport, we are able to deliver large-sized hangars that can shelter single or double docking facilities. In collaboration with our consortium of partners, we deliver expertise and resources for the successful execution of all types of civil works. Our affiliated companies are international groups assisting us in the development of cost-effective solutions for infrastructure/civil works. Duly approved by Lufthansa Technik, the conceptual design was then detailed by the PEG team in South East Asia. This method involving our experts from around the world allowed the designs to be conducted by our specialists and ensured competitive pricing during the process.FabricationFabrication of the docking system took place in Poland. With PEG’s expert Engineers overseeing the fabrication we were able to ensure highest levels of quality while conforming to CE certification. Transport and LogisticsPEG’s dedicated Transport and Logistics department ensured the safe arrival of the newly fabricated docks. Through the utilization of our worldwide network of transport specialists and warehousing facilities, PEG was able to ensure the project ran according to schedule and on budget. When commenting on the success of the project, Head of Transport and Logistics Nick Gilbert said: “Through optimization we were able to reduce the transport time from fabricator to site to 6 days, and at the same time we were able to ensure a quality delivery through our safe packing procedures and procurement follow up.” Lufthansa Malta Project TimelineWith PEG S.A’s Turnkey contract complete on time and on budget PEG ’s role as Turnkey Contractor has come to an end. The following timeline details PEG ’s scope of work throughout the project.PEG S.A. - 4, rue du Lièvre - CP 1411 - 1211 Geneva 26 - SwitzerlandTel +41 (0) 22 544 31 00 Fax +41 (0) 22 544 31 05 www.pegeng.ch info@pegeng.ch3D Engineering DesignsFabricationTransporting our docks to the hangar Loading the newly fabricated docksAssembly of docking station Through skillful project planning and coordination the PEG Group organized the delivery of the preassembled dock to an onsite hangar dedicated to the docks final assembly. Where there is an existing hangar PEG can deliver directly to the facility. Utilizing the hangar allowed the assembly of the new dock and the construction of the new hangar to be done in parallel. Again furthering the project’s efficiency. ErectionOur use of 3D software during the design stage identified any erection problems before they took place. This combined with our dedicated team of Engineers from PEG South East Asia who have been executing the erection of docking stations since 2002, ensured the flawless erection of the equipment. Commissioning Conducted by our experienced Engineers this stage ensured the facility was fully operational. PEG conducted intense training sessions with the new docking station staff to ensure that the new facilities are operated safely. This included the provision of accurate and easy to use operational and safety manuals written and prepared by PEG. Despite the handover stage being complete PEG’s experts are still at hand to assist and ensure a successful transition.Lufthansa Malta Project TimelineConstructing the new hangar Assembly of the Maintenance DockThe new hangarErectionPEG S.A. - 4, rue du Lièvre - CP 1411 - 1211 Geneva 26 - SwitzerlandTel +41 (0) 22 544 31 00 Fax +41 (0) 22 544 31 05 www.pegeng.ch info@pegeng.chErection Completed Maintenance Dock9PEG SEA Erection teamWe are trusted by the industry leadersPEG’s scope of work: • Technical feasibility study and research • Elaboration of detailed design drawings • Equipment procurement • Fabrication of steel structures • Transport and delivery management • Erection • Commissioning and trainingWIDE BODY AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE DOCKBAY 1 of 2 for Lufthansa Technik MaltaClient: Lufthansa Technik MaltaLocation: MaltaContract signature: January 2008Date of completion: November 2008Type of project: Turnkey General contractor: PEG S.A.Project descriptionThe project was for the construction of maintenance docks to equip the hangar No. 1 and No. 2 of the new maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities for wide body aircrafts at the Malta International Airport. The docks for hangar No. 1 and No. 2 are designed for the maintenance of:• Airbus A330-200 and A330-300,• Airbus A340-200 and A340-300,• Airbus A340-500 and A340-600.These docks can also easily be adjusted to fit:• Boeing B777 – 200/300 • Boeing B747 – 400/600/8This project was executed by PEG on a turn-key basis.
