Tramway lines have to be operated in on-sight mode with a high flexibility, but without compromising safety. Several reasons may require an automatic tramway protection system to enforce speed limits or line side signals, allowing high traffic levels and improvement in the management of driver’s behaviour. The Pegasus 101 system has been designed to be easily installed on new signalling systems or for retrofitting existing installations. It is compatible with mixed traffic areas or segregated lines.
