Permanent Magnetic Drum Separators

SB 340 UK/5Models: FA, FR, RA, RR, RAS, RASP, RRSPermanent magnets for automaticseparation of ferromagnetic andparamagnetic particles.PermanentMAGNETICDRUMSEPARATORSSEPARATION?SEPARATION?SEPARATION?SEPARATION?SEPARATION?SEPARATION?SEPARATION?SEPARATION?SEPARATION?SEPARATIONPrinciple of OperationAs material reaches the drum, themagnetic field attracts and holdsferrous particles to the drum shell. Asthe drum revolves, it carries thematerial through the stationarymagnetic field. The non magneticmaterial falls freely from the shell, while ferrous particles are held firmlyuntil they are carried out of themagnetic field. (See illustration onpage 2).Advantages? Automatic self cleaning mechanism? High volume throughputs? Enhanced separation compared to equipment such as Magnetic Pulleys? Low maintenance? Minimal spare parts requiredFeatures? Robust design? Different magnet configurations available suited to individual needs? Drum housing can be designedto suit space limitations? Wide range of Drum diameters andwidths available®Applications? Recycling? The rare earthmagnets produce magnetic fields up to25 times stronger than conventionalFerrite, with no increase in size. Theadditional strength helps in removingweakly magnetic or very fine ironcontaminants from a wide variety ofpowdery, dry bulk materials as well asslurries.Metal Separation ModulesMagnetic Drums are commonly suppliedin a modular system to accompany anEriez Non Ferrous Magnetic Separator(ECS). The Drum removes the ferrous particlesprior to the secondary separation of nonferrous metals from the non metallicmaterials. Both Ferrite and Rare Earthmodels are used. For advice on individual applications, contact Eriez engineers at:Standard Drum SeparatorsDesigned with Ferrite magnets to providea good separation of tramp and fine ironfrom dry bulk materials.DRUM MAGNET CAPABILITIES TYPICALMODEL TYPE APPLICATIONSFA Ferrite General tramp iron removal Food, Plastics, Glass, Chemicals, Minerals, RecyclingFR Ferrite High levels of coarse iron and Food, Plastics, Glass, some spherical iron removal Chemicals, Minerals, Recycling RA Rare Earth Ideal to separate fine iron Recycling, Minerals, from entrapped material CeramicsRR Rare Earth Separation of weakly magnetic Recycling, Minerals, materials such as fragmented Ceramicsstainless steel, magnetics of a spherical nature, material withiron inclusionsRAS Rare Earth Fine iron and stainless steel Ceramics, MineralsRASP Rare Earth Fine iron and fine stainless steel, Ceramics, Minerals, hematite, ilmenite, chromite RecyclingRRS Rare Earth Enhanced fine iron or paramagnetic Mineral Processing, material separation Ceramics, Foundry
