www.siempelkamp.comPresses and Plants for the Rubber IndustryThe universal Siempelkamp range for the rubber industrySiempelkamp has been build ing presses forsheet-type materials for 125 years. This experience is also chan nell ed with good effect into thepresses and plants which Siempelkamp develops, builds andcommissions world-wide for the production of various rubberproducts. It is thanks to this know-how that Siempelkamp has becomethe world market leader in the steel cord and textile conveyorbelt segment. More than 60% of all the conveyor belts in usearound the world are manufactured on Siempelkamp plants.Presses for conveyor beltsConveyor belt repair presses Siempelkampdouble belt pressesMulti-opening pressesMulti-opening presses of single and double C-frame designTextile conveyor beltsRubber granulatesRubber sheets/mats with asmooth surfaceRubber sheets/mats with a profiled surfaceTreads for tire retreadingSteel cord belts2All over the world, conveyor belts are used on a daily basis to tran s port mil -lions of tons of excavat ed material, coal and ore over dis tances of many miles.Material loads, tensile forces and velocities up to 7 m/sec place these conveyor belts under im mense strain, but even so they are expected to perform their duties for many years and always with the best straight-running characteristics. These expectations can only be fulfilled with a quality of product ion andequipment that guarantees exact positioning of the steel cords and uniformpre-tensioning of the textile plies in the belts.Siempelkamp plants have a global track record of success and guaranteethese high quality standards.Siempelkamp plants for textile and steel cord conveyor belts offer the following advantages:• Controlled pre-tensioning of the textile fabric • Uniform pre-tensioning of all steel cables• Exact spacing of the cables• Reversing of the steel cables and belts if necessary• Optimum pressure distribution on the conveyor belt press• Outstanding thickness tolerances for belts from 5 to 50 mm • Number of cables in the belt according to customer requirements• Cable diameter from 3 to 15 mm• Cable tension up to 4,000 N per individual cable• Low level of manpower• Minimal downtime due to short product changeover timesCreel with cable guiding Cable clamping and tensioning deviceCreelCable tensioner with heavy clamperCreel Compactor lorry with pre-pressLet-offs for core and cover platesTrimming knife as circular knife Production plants for conveyor belts with steel 3Compactor lorry Multi-piston pressGreen conveyor belt at press infeedAdvantages of the down-stroke/multi-piston press:• Conveyor belts from as little as 5 mm thick• Optimum pressure distribution • Only small foundations required• Low production costs• Low investment costs• Highest safety standards• Extremely long life-span• Easy to maintainMobile inspection platformSection through a conveyor belt pressLet-off station for textile belts Conveyor belt press with hydraulic stationcord and textile fabric plies4Multi-piston press Winder with 2,000 mm beltPress with cooling areaStandard press line parameters Conveyor belt width 1,200 mm to 3,200 mm Conveyor belt thicknes 5 mm to 50 mm Press length 10,600 mm to 23,480 mm Specific surface pressure up to 400 N/cm2Number of cables up to 260 Winding capacity up to 70 to Twin belt curing is possible. A carpet of calibrated roller rods provides the necessary support for the pressingforce between the steel belts and the stationary hot platens. These roller rods run freely without sliding friction and without touching each other. This special arrangement of support for the pressing force is not only simple and robust – it also ensures the completely uniform transfer of force and heat to each part of the product without any gaps. The Siempelkamp double belt press is built as standard for a productwidth of 1,400 mm and 2,400 mm. Its length depends on the produc t ioncapacity and lies between 10 and 25 m. Additional lengths availableon request.Advantages of the Siempelkamp double belt press:• Up to 200% higher capacity in heating/cooling processes• Pressures up to 500 N/cm2• Improved pressure distribution due to a dynamic press process• Output increased thanks to the better transfer of heat• Up to 80% energy savings in heating/cooling processes• No time lost due to handling operations, e.g. opening the press, pulling in the product, clamping and stretching of conveyor belts, closing the press, heating up, cooling down, opening, winding up• No visible joints on the product surface due to cooling endsPress plant with four openingsMulti-opening presses for mats, sheets and floor tiles8Siempelkamp supplies multi-open ing presses with loading and un loadingsystems for the vulcaniza tion of rubber sheets, mats and floor coveringswith smooth or profiled surfaces. With a track record of success going back several decades, these pressesguarantee high-quality profiled surfaces through high precision:• Press sizes starting from 1,200 x 1,200 mm• Specific pressures from 400 to 1,000 N/cm2Single C-frame press for tire treadsThe truck tire retreading industry is a high-growth business sector allover the world. Fact is, consid erable waste disposal volumes can besaved and the high fixed costs of the transport industry reduced whenintact tire carcasses are reused. When it comes to operational safety, durability and running perform -ance, retreaded tires are as good as new tires. And they also meetevery demand in coping with the normal stresses exerted by road surfaces, speed and payloads. Siempelkamp has been supplying multi-opening presses for the pro-duction of tire treads for nearly three decades and is there fore anexperienced and successful partner for single presses as well as complete plants.Press dataWe supply and install single and double C-frame vulcanizing presses:• Size 3,800 mm x 600 mm with 6 to 8 openings• Size 10,800 mm x 600 mm with 6 to 8 openings • Uniform specific pressure of 500 N/cm2Scope of supply:oil hydraulic units, PC control system, high-speed mould changer,high-speed loading/unloading systemAdvantages in the vulcanizing processOur vulcanizing presses are state-of-the-art designs with the following special features:• Extremely uniform pressure distribution • Extremely low lateral flow• Special system for degassing the tire treads• High-speed loading and unloading procedure• Strainless loading due to loading cages9Presses for tire retreadingLayout of a single C-frame press Layout of a double C-frame pressSiempelkamp Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH & Co.
