RAM EUROPEJUMBO TRACK MULTIwww.rameurope.com info@rameurope.comHeavy-Duty Rescueand Fire-Fighting VehicleJUMBO TRACK MULTI Heavy-Duty Rescue and Fire-Fighting VehicleGENERAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE VEHICLE:•Mobility, fire- fighting and rescue of up to 10 individuals under all weather conditions, even within fire.•Cruising range 450 km and water capacity 15.000 lt max. before refilling•Full thermal and NBC protection•Large engine power 830 hp•Fire- fighting on the move•Easy vehicle transport on the tank transporter•Maximum speed 64km/h•Modernized operator's compartment•Easy water refilling from ground or air supplies by helicopter•High maneuverability and mobility in all terrains•Fire safety zones opening while fire is onThe heavy-duty rescue and fire- fighting vehicle Jumbo Track Multi, combines the maneuvrability of a Leopard 1 tank with the rescue missions and the fire fighting capability of a modern fire engine. The heavy-duty rescue fire-fighting vehicle Jumbo Track Multi is based on a demilitarized battle tank chassis, type Leopard 1. By using this chassis, the following additional advantages can be identified as against similar vehicles: -The Leopard 1 is a vehicle in service and in operation with eleven Armed Forces. Maintenance, support and operation can thus be ensured also in the future. -The chassis is equipped with cross out rubber-padded tracks so that the vehicle is able and also permitted to operate on public roads without damaging the road surface. The integrated NBC protection and ventilation system of the Leopard 1 protects the crew from smoke and noxious gases, enabling them to even cross fires. JUMBO TRACK MULTI Heavy-Duty Rescue and Fire-Fighting VehicleTo solve the problems outlined above, we propose a special-purpose rescue and fire- fighting vehicle based on a tracked chassis.Generally, tracked vehicles offer the following advantages over wheeled vehicles: • Low ground pressure • High cross-country mobility • Good maneuverability (pivot-turn capability) • High mechanical and thermal protection Heavy fire-fighting vehicles with their high ground pressure very quickly rut existing forest tracks, thus making them impassable to other vehicles. Also their maneuverability is limited.JUMBO TRACK MULTI Heavy-Duty Rescue and Fire-Fighting VehicleThe vehicles must therefore be light, which means that they can carry only little water, so that they either have to make many trips to the fire or the water has to be pumped to the source of the fire through hoselines. Thus, in turn, is very time-consuming and prevents rapid, flexible fire fighting on site. The heavy-duty rescue and fire-fighting vehicle Jumbo Track Multi is a full-tracked vehicle, specially designed for wild land rescue and fire-fighting in areas that are difficult to access and dangerous. The vehicle thus features a high level of maneuverability and mobility in cross- country terrain with low ground pressure in spite of a high payload. The missions of this special-purpose vehicle are largely independent of external supply and support services. To disaster area by heavy duty carrier like all special heavy machinery of 35 tonsJUMBO TRACK MULTI Heavy-Duty Rescue and Fire-Fighting VehicleDriver’s station: • The driver’s station is located on the right side in the nose of the chassis. All driving functions are carried out and monitored from this station. It is the original driver’s station in the MBT Leopard 1 and the operating instructions are the same as for the MBT Leopard 1. • Additionally, remote indicators for engine and transmission oil filling levels as well as the service indicators for the combustion air fine filters are integrated at the driver’s station. • The driver’s station is accessed from the front through the driver’s hatch. Three vision blocks are provided for outward vision when driving with the hatch closed.Extinguishing gear operator station: An additional operator station is located on the left side in the nose of the chassis. All fire extinguishing functions are operated from this station. The following control elements are fitted at this station:•Control panel, extinguishing gear operator • Activation, selection of pump functions • Water level gauge, reservoir • Pump pressure/intake pressure indicators • Controls and displays, fire extinguishing equipment • Power-on button, air-conditioning system • Control panel, addition of foam • Activation of foam-adding function/filling of foam tank • Selection of mixing rate • Pistol grip, water-canon • Control functions, water-canon • Release of extinguishing operation The two control panels are mounted to the left of the operator in a common frame above the track fenders; the pistol grip is mounted on the operator’s seat on the right-hand side. The seat of the extinguishing gear operator is the same as the driver’s seat and modified accordingly.JUMBO TRACK MULTI Heavy-Duty Rescue and Fire-Fighting VehicleThe operator station can be sealed at the top by means of a hinged hatch cover. As in the case of the driver’s station, it is accessed also from the front through this hatch. For outward vision and for head-in observation, three vision blocks are provided in front of the hatch as in the case of the driver’s station. For optimum operation of the water-canon, an electronic follower control device is used. The water-canon tube follows a pistol-type control grip with rotary and lifting movements, thereby permitting precise control even without visual contact with the water-canon. Integrated in the control handle are additional pushbuttons and switches to operate the water-canon functions. To protect the crew against water, dust or other foreign matter when driving closed down, a flap with windows is located above the hatches to protect driver and operator and, if needed, can be pulled forward from behind and over the two operators. The flap is retained in its two end positions by means of gas struts. Windshield wipers ensure clear vision even during fire extinguishing operations.JUMBO TRACK MULTI Heavy-Duty Rescue and Fire-Fighting VehicleThe water-canon is remote-controlled. It is mounted at the front end of the vehicle on the reservoir, above the operator stations. The flow rate of the water-canon can be set electrically to 800 lt/min or 2000 lt/min.Self-priming of waterThe suction fitting is located on the right side of the vehicle in a recess of the reservoir. When not used, it is sealed with a cover in order to prevent the ingress of dirt and bleed air. The suction hoses required for self-priming as well as a basket are stowed on the roof of the vehicle.Video backeye system for reverse travel The video backeye system enhances the safety of Jumbo Track Multi under operational conditions and helps to avoid damages. In the areas accessible to the operators, the torsion bars are covered with steel profiles. Checker plates of aluminium are bolted on above the profiles providing a continuous flat surface. The pump, as well as the components of the hydraulic intermediate gear is mounted on a frame, which is bolted onto the profile guard plates of the torsion bars in mounting rails.JUMBO TRACK MULTI Heavy-Duty Rescue and Fire-Fighting VehicleDozer blade The heavy-duty rescue and fire- fighting vehicle Jumbo Track Multi is equipped with a dozer blade for earth leveling work and removing light debris and obstacles.Jumbo Track Multi, rescues of up to 10 individuals under all weather conditions, even within fire.JUMBO TRACK MULTI Heavy-Duty Rescue and Fire-Fighting VehicleRescue and fire-fighting vehicle Jumbo Track Multi with rescue compartmentMr. Walter Egger, President CTIF International Association of Fire and Rescue Services and Mr. Theodore Rentzos, President of RAM EUROPE.
