Chatterbox Makes Locating Buried Valves Fast and EasyIrrigation Problem SolversNow there’s a fast and easy way to locate buried solenoid valves, the Chatterbox. This simple unit fits in the palm of your hand and can be quickly connected to any 24-volt irrigation controller to help you find hidden valves.Once connected to the specific zone wire at the irrigation controller, the unit will cause the solenoid on the buried valve to “chatter” and the vibrations and sound will lead you right to its location. Simple enough to successfully locate valves in minutes. Inexpensive enough for anyone that services irrigation systems to own. There’s no need to rent expensive wire track-ing equipment or digging everywhere to locate valves. Put Chatterbox to work for you.ChatterboxWarning: Make certain that the main water supply to the irrigation system is shut off before using the Chatterbox unit to locate valves. If a master valve or pump start relay is connected to the irrigation controller, disconnect the output wire from the master valve/pump start circuit on the controller before using the Chatterbox unit.To Locate A Single Valve:Disconnect the desired station number control wire from the controller’s ter-minal block. Clamp one of the Chatterbox alligator clips to the zone output on the controller and the other alligator clip to the field wire. Using the manual cycle on the controller, turn on the desired station. The solenoid coil on the valve will begin to “Chatter” and the sound and vibration will lead you to the location of the valve. The two station outputs will be sent through the single zone wire.To Locate Multiple Valves:Disconnect the wire(s) from the controller’s terminal block. Clamp one of the Chatterbox alligator clips to the common output on the controller and the other alligator clip to the field common wire(s).Using the semi-automatic cycle on the controller, activate the zones sequen-tially for a minimum of 2 minutes each. The stations will come on one at a tie in sequence and the “chattering” will lead you to the location of the valves.Technical features:Installation Instructions:Providing Quality R Co.
