(Composti Organici Volatili)di tipo rigenerativo.PRINCIPIO DI FUNZIONAMENTO:L'impianto è costituito essenzialmente da tre camere verticaliriempite con materiale ceramico ad elevata capacità termica(una camera funziona come pre-riscaldatore dell’aria in ingresso,una come recuperatore di calore dell’aria in uscita dalla cameradi combustione, una come fase di lavaggio con aria pulita) e unacamera di combustione con bruciatore modulante che le collegasuperiormente.Il flusso gassoso contenente i C.O.V. si preriscalda, attraversandodal basso verso l'alto il letto di materiale ceramico della primacamera, fino ad una temperatura prossima a 750 ÷ 800 °C.Successivamente il flusso gassoso attraversa la camera dicombustione dove il bruciatore modulante, generalmentealimentato con metano, fornisce l'energia sufficiente a raggiungeree/o mantenere la temperatura di completa ossidazione termicadei C.O.V. e finalmente cede il calore assorbito, attraversandocon moto dall'alto verso il basso il letto di materiale ceramiconella seconda camera e viene emesso depurato in atmosfera.Nella terza camera il letto ceramico viene attraversato da un flussodi aria pulita con moto dal basso verso l'alto, in modo da spingereverso la camera di combustione i residui di aria inquinata.L'elevata capacità termica del particolare materiale che costituiscei letti ceramici permette di ottenere con continuità efficienze direcupero termico dal 92 al 95%.Tale efficienza di recupero termico sommata al calore generatodalla reazione di ossidazione dei C.O.V. permette di ottenere regimidi funzionamento auto termici, cioè senza consumo di combustibileausiliario a partire da concentrazioni di C.O.V. nel flusso gassosomaggiori di 1,2 ÷2 g/Nm3.Ad intervalli regolari le tre camere si scambiano la funzione dipreriscaldamento, recupero e lavaggio , per mezzo di speciali valvoleautomatiche in modo da garantire un livello di emissione di C.O.T.(Carbonio Organico Totale) costantemente entro i limiti di legge.TYPE OF EQUIPMENT:VOC (volatile organic compound) Regenerative Thermal combustionplant.OPERATING PRINCIPALS:The plant basically consists of three vertical chambers filled ofhigh thermal capacity ceramic material (a preheating inlet gaschamber, a heat recovery of purified gas from combustionchamber and a cleaning chamber with fresh air) and acombustion chamber with modulating burner that connectup the 3 chambers. The gas with V.O.C. undergoes a preheatingphase crossing from the lower part to the upper of the ceramicbed in the first chamber until a temperature near 750 - 800°C.Then the gas goes through the chamber where the modulatingburner, usually fuelled by methane, gives necessary energy toreach and/or maintain complete oxidation temperature of V.O.C.and finally looses the accumulated heat, by crossing to the upperfrom the lower part of the ceramic bed in a second chamber andis released, cleaned, into atmosphere. In the third chamber ceramicbed a fresh air flow goes bottom up with the purpose to conveyin the combustion chamber the rest of polluted air.The particular ceramic beds with high thermal capacity permit toachieve a thermal recovery efficiency from 92 up to 95%.This efficiency, added to the heat produced from the V.O.C.oxidation, is sufficient to maintain the process without anysupporting fuel starting from a V.O.C. concentration value higherthan 1,2 -2 g/Nm3. The 3 chambers, at regular intervals, exchangethe function of preheating, recovering and washing with specialautomatic valves to guarantee a constant C.O.T.
