Scheuten was set up in 1950 by Jacques Scheuten and for a long time focused on flat glass processing. Meanwhile Scheuten is one of Europe’s top five independent glass-manufacturing companies. The company’s development paralleled the expanding range of applications of glass. In 1970 Scheuten became one of the first companies to manufacture insulation glass. The product range was extended to include laminated glass (1983), tempered glass (1990), coated glass (1995) and fire proof glass (2007). Since 2002 Scheuten has also focused on the development and manufacture of high-grade special BIPV glass-glass solar energy systems (Optisol®).

Geographical spread
Scheuten mainly operates in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany for the residential and commercial construction, but executes projects (design, engineering, execution) also in many countries in- and outside Europe, amongst which the UK, the USA, Russia, Australia and the Middle East. For this purpose Scheuten has several prodution sites and sales organisations, such as our subsidiaries Bischoff Glastechnik AG (BGT) in Bretten (D) and SITEC Produktions GmbH in Waghäusel (D), and a joint venture with Mediaglass GmbH.
