SCOST - Soil Color Optical Screening Tool Brochure

BackgroundDakota Technologies is pleased to announce the availability of our Soil Color Optical Screening Tool (SCOST™), a complimentary module for UVOST® and TarGOST®. This screening tool is an in-situ, percussion advanced instrument and builds off Dakota’s long history of developing rugged optical field tools.Soil color is one of the most important properties used to identifying and classify soil horizons.Soil color is impacted by a number of factors including:Moisture content• Mineralogy• Organic matter• Redox conditions• SCOST™Soil Color Optical Screening ToolDakota Technologies, Inc. Dakota’s SCOST system was found to be more reliable and accurate than electrical conductivity and was more cost effective than drilling. Another important benefit was the lack of investigation derived waste, as is the case with all of Dakota’s optical screening tools.
