Screw ConveyorsSAXLUND screw conveyors havelong been employed in deman-ding environments for problem-free, economical and securetransport of a wide range of dif-ferent materials. Our own design of both screwsand other components, give usfull control over quality andfunction and make it possible toadapt the units to each custo-mer’s needs and wishes.Screw ConveyorsSAXLUND Spiral Conveyors One system with many advantages• The absence of a central shaft in the spiral creates more space• Large pieces can be transported• Sticky and threadlike materias do not get caught up• High filling degree and low rotary speed give high capacity• Low noise level• Enclosed, dust-free and hygienic system• Projecting free spiral keeps the outlet free from string, tape, steel wire etc.• Long transport runs without interruption are possible• Direct side-feeding saves space • Angles of operation up to 90° possible• The conveyors only bearing is located in the drive unit• Minimal wear and maintenance• Good overall economy DesignEach conveyor is dimensioned and constructed with regard to factors suchas capacity, installationangle, properties of materials transported, etc. Themost common design is a combination of a stainless steel trough, wear liningof plastic or steel and spirals made of special steel. Since requirements andproblems vary from case to case, a wide range of variants naturally results.Drive units of well-known makes are normallyincluded in our supplies. Customer-specificdrive units can also be supplied. We also offerconveyors with double coordinating spirals injoint troughs, known as twin conveyors. For silosand receiving hoppers, we construct bottomswith several spirals. Pipe-shaped, swivel, water-jacketed and insulated conveyors, are othervariants. These screws are used for all general applications and up to10m in length and 1000mm in diameter. Flights can be any steel typeaccording to the application. When stuffing boxes are fitted, the shaftalways has an adjacent wear sleeve. Ribbon ScrewsThese are generally used for special cases where the conveyed materialis very sticky and may otherwise cause 'logging' in a standard screw. Weuse our ribbon screws for example in our ash conditioning mixer. Twin ScrewsThis can be a good feature in special applications again for some stickymaterials.
