The controller plugs directly into your engine and reads all the available data. Additional connections are available for transducers, floats, analog and digital signal devices, and engine shutdown switches. The panel is designed around an MC228 controller featuring easy to use pushbuttons that allow the operator to manually start and throttle the engine. If automatic operation is desired, the unit can also operate in full automatic mode. To conserve power, the LCD backlight can be set to automatically turn off after an adjustable time period.www.murcal.comP: 661-272-4700 F: 661-947-7570a 2011 S600 “Lite” Engine Control Panel Engine Control PanelDescriptionDUAL DISPLAYS LET YOU VIEW VITAL ENGINE DATA WITHOUT EXPENSIVE DIAGNOSTIC SOFTWAREExcellent Low Voltage PerformanceThe S600 “Lite” Panel is housed in a NEMA 4X Hoffman enclosure (12” x 14” x 8 “) with a transparent front cover that can be clamped shut and locked for safety. The panel features a key switch for Auto-Off-Manual-Crank, a 518PH Tattletale annunciator, a toggle switch for manual throttle control, and a mushroom style E-Stop button located on the right side of the enclosure. This panel also accommodates up to three (3) two-inch (2”) Swichgage instruments, allowing you visually monitor your engine’s vital signs: engine oil pressure, engine temperature and manifold vacuum.Control features include start/stop types configurable for pressure, level, temperature, maintained contact (close to start/open to stop), or via Modbus from a Central controller or PLC. Auto throttling routines include preset RPM, maintained pressure, maintained level, or maximum RPM set point. Supplied are dry contacts for engine running and failure, along with one (1) extra contact that can be configured for either a clutch output, exhaust fan output, or a “go to speed” output (to be connected to a speed-controlled governor). The controller is Modbus ready; a list of the holding registers is included in the operation manual. The Compliance Controls AFR64R (MEC-R) Rich-Burn Air-Fuel Ratio Control System makes an excellent addition to the S600 “Lite” Panel for applications requiring emission compliance while maximizing engine fuel economy. 12 / 24 VDC (SPECIFY)Series 600 “Lite” Engine Control Panel41343 12th Street West, Palmdale, CA 93551 Phone: 661-272-4700 Fax: 661-947-7570 www.murcal.coma 2011 Series 600 “Lite” Engine Control PanelSeries 600 “Lite” Engine Control PanelRemote CommunicationsFeaturesEngine Speed Control: New electronic engines have multiple options for throttle control. A simple set-point in the MC228 lets you choose from analog, J1939 (future), or digital throttling types. Find out what your engine uses, then select the best type from our menu.MurCal??Start/Stop Control: The controller will accept a contact closure, transducer input, or a PLC/Central command for start/stop. The controller is field configurable for single contact closure, pressure transducer, level transducer, PLC/Central controller, or temperature sensor (Model 12).Automatic Speed Control: There are many types of control inputs used for automatic speed control. If you want the engine to maintain a constant speed as the load changes, you will select “Preset” from our menu. If you want to maintain a maximum RPM, select “Maximum RPM” from the menu. If you have a pressure transducer on the discharge, select “Transducer” from our menu and choose the discharge pressure to maintain. If you have a tank and want to maintain a level, select “Level” and set the level to maintain. A central controller or remote PLC / SCADA system can be used to get the desired speed as well.Transducer Type: Through simple menu choices and set-point configuration, you can tell the controller the type of transducer you have hooked to the system and calibrate and its maximum pressure, level or temperature.Level Throttle Type: If you are maintaining a level, choose FILL or EMPTY and the controller will automatically alter the way it starts, stops and throttles the engine.ECU Generated Shutdown Type: As a window into your engine’s computer the MC228 will, in most instances, spell out in plain English the reason your onboard computer shutdown the engine.User InterfaceThe MC228 engine controller is SCADA ready. The controller is configured as a MODBUSb slave. The address number is field configurable. Both RS232 or RS485 are available.By using the three program/setup buttons and the Control and Setup Window, you can make set-point changes and scroll through the system displays. The liquid crystal display shows information pertinent to its current running mode, delays that are timing, and engine status. page1 copy.pdf page.2 copy
