Appendix D1 (Shield_Setting_Mechanism SM 200).DOC Appendix D1: KA-TE PMO Shield Placing Mechanism SM 200 (Patent EP 674 132) Injecting New Life into the Sewer Application: Attached to the KA-TE PMO Filler Robot SR 300, the patent-protected KA-TE PMO shield placing mechanism SM 200 is used to place shields in sewer pipes with diameter DN 200 to DN 300. Shields are available with various sizes of holes for the renovation of laterals, without holes for the sealing of holes and as closed shields for the injection of joints. Different lengths of belts allow the use in different diameters of the sewers. The expansion and retraction of the shield is powered by electric motors, the attachment and release of the shield by pneumatic latches. Shield and bladder are placed in one go.
