GGGAAASSS &&& LLLIIIQQQUUUIIIDDD FFFIIIEEELLLDDD MMMEEEAAASSSUUURRREEEMMMEEENNNTTT SSQQUUAARREE RROOOOTT EERRRROORR EELLIIMMIINNAATTOORR After many years of compressor-related, Square Root Error (?SRE?) problems in measuring natural gas, SPL can offer an option for eliminating SREs. A SRE occurs when the opening and closing of a valve used in compression causes a pulsating wave that strikes the primary measuring device and creates a false increase in the flow. Although the most common fix is adequate, it can often be costly to the producer. SPL provides an effective solution –the SRE Eliminator produced by Flat Line Pulsation, Inc. By adjusting the choke plate to the optional size, the Eliminator lessens the impact on the producer, while still lowering pulsation to an acceptable level. The Eliminator has a range of orifices that rotate into the stream to restrict the flow just enough to reduce or eliminate the pulse. Effects on the well and compression are minimal and the device would never be able to totally shut off flow. During the transition to a smaller or larger orifice, the previous orifice allows flow until the next orifice is rotated in place. It is well known that when demand for gas increases and the metering station needs increased flow, SRE will decrease. The Eliminator can be adjusted to a larger size, allowing this change and keeping the error reduced while allowing flow to increase. This patented technology is available exclusively through SPL. GGLLEE//SSRREE TTEESSTTEERR 66..00 SPL offers gauge line error and square root error testing using the new GLE/SRE tester 6.0. Square Root Error Tester 6.0 The new SRE 6.0 utilizes a high speed transmitter and software to determine the presence of pulsation. The software analyzes the pulsation and prints out a custom report documenting the issues of over measured flow. SRE is always a positive error. Gauge Line Error Tester 6.0 The new Gauge Line Error tester utilizes two high speed transmitters. The transmitters compare and calculate a side by side direct mounted installation to a direct mount to remote mount comparison. Gauge Line Error is the Amplification and attenuation of pulse waves in the gauge lines. If Square Root Error is not present Gauge line Error will not exist. This ensures that all lines of communication are kept open and the client is kept informed of all aspects of a project through one source. The client has several groups that are involved in the allocation processes as well. These groups can include but are not limited to: Management ? Operations Accounting ? Regulatory Affairs Gas & Liquid Marketing ? Nominations Transportation Having a designated project manager for each allocation project provides a single contact for all of these departments should there be any issues. As a vital part of any allocation, our Project Managers are well-versed in the agreements in place, the Standard Operating Procedures for the project, the allocation methodology, timing and requirements of the parties, and the field material balance. Monitoring the measurement balance of the project is critical and when a balance problem arises, our Project Manager will promptly identify the issue, reconcile the problem, and communicate resolution to the client. Further, we ensure generation of any reallocations and take the necessary steps to make certain that the problem is corrected long term. SPL currently performs allocation and project management services for a multitude of offshore gathering systems, deepwater platforms, and gas processing plants. Our services were instrumental in the development of an allocation method for identifying and allocating Retrograde Condensate. Such method is currently utilized throughout the industry and is known as ?The SPL Method for allocations of Retrograde Condensate?. With so many multi-party projects being developed, the industry has looked to third disinterested parties to perform these services. SPL has built a reputation for meeting the needs of its clients in performing these duties. In 1995, SPL’s Allocation and Oil & Gas Accounting group created a department specifically for deepwater allocation projects. These projects include specific properties as well as deepwater gathering systems. Due to the large volumes of these systems, the focus of this deepwater group is specialized attention and minimizing errors. SPL’s Allocation and Oil & Gas Accounting division has a solid reputation and can provide your company with solutions that work.
