SRS Crisafulli Rotomite 6000CD Restores Basin Capacity w English and Spanish - Brochure

Restoring basin/pond capacity without stopping mine processing and/or damaging the liner is a perfect application for a SRS Crisafulli hydraulic dredge. In one instance, operations at a copper mine chose a Rotomite 6000CD to remove an estimated 76,000 cubic yards of acidic and abrasive tailing materials. Dredging restored the impoundment capacity in less than six months. The Rotomite 6000CD proved well suited for restoring the capacity of the holding basin/pond. The dredge pumped through 500 feet (152 meters) of 8-inch (20 Centimeters) floating discharge pipe, 1,500 feet (457 Meters) of 10-inch (25 Centimeters) fused pipe, and over an 80 feet (24 Meters) berm at 1300-1500 Gallons per minute (4321–5678 Liters per minute). No booster pump was required, reducing cost and complexity of the system. SRS Crisafulli’ s unique cutterhead articulation was indispensable as the primary method of breaking up material. The cutterhead was outfitted with a liner protection cage, preventing the horizontal auger from damaging the liner as it pushed the slurry into the pump.
