Part No. Applicable Model A100835, A100838 TTS, STTS, TBS, PFS A100836 BTS, HVDP A101521, A101521-1 TTS, STTS, TBS, PFS A100961 TMS MixerGROUND WIRE ASSEMBLY ATTACHMENT TO MOTORSMotor Type: Electric Explosion ProofScrew #10-32 plated nut onto exposed machine screw in motor housing. Attach #10 ring terminal from the end of the ground wire assembly to exposed machine screw in motor housing using #10-32 plated nut and #10 lock washer.Motor Type: AirRemove one of the Allen head set screws from the motor mount. Slide 1/4-20 x 5/8” round head machine screw through 1/4” ring terminal on Ground wire assembly. Thread 1/4-20 plated nut onto screw. Insert screw into hole on motor mount and tighten (do not over tighten). Using a 7/16” wrench, tighten 1/4-20 nut against the ring terminal.ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONSSTATIC PROTECTION KITWARNING: PUMPING OR MIXING FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS CAN CREATE STATIC ELECTRICITY, WHICH CAN CAUSE EXPLOSION AND FIRE RESULTING IN INJURY OR DEATH. ALL CONTAIN-ERS MUST BE METAL AND GROUNDED.ASSEMBLY FOR PUMPSStep I - Place stainless steel hose clamp on end of grounded hose.Step 2 - Slide grounded hose assembly over pump tube dis-charge spout. Tighten hose clamp. Note: grounded hose comes with ground wire assembly already attached.Step 3 - Attach ground wire assembly to pump tube using #8 ring terminal and supplied 8-32 x 1/4” brass screw and brass lock washer. Step 4 - Attach ground wire assembly to motor. Determine ap-propriate motor type and attach following the listed instructions.Step 5 - Check electrical continuity between the clamp on the end of the ground wire assembly and the end of the grounded hose. The resistance must be one (1) ohm or less. If it is greater than one ohm, recheck all connections.ASSEMBLY FOR MIXERSStep 1 - Attach ground wire assembly to mixer tube using #8 ring terminal and supplied 8-32 x 1/4” brass screw and brass lock washer.Step 2 - Attach ground wire assembly to motor. Determine ap-propriate motor type and attach following the listed instructions.Step 3 - Check electrical continuity between the clamp on the end of the ground wire assembly and the mixer tube The resis-tance must be one (1) ohm or less. If it is greater than one ohm, recheck all connections.DRUM PUMP INSTALLATION1. Install the pump and Static Protection Kit as described and shown.2. Connect ground wire assembly to earth ground using sup plied clamp.3. Connect ground wire between drum and earth ground.4. Connect ground wire between receiving container and earth ground (or use bonding wire to connect to drum).CAUTION - Check electrical continuity of all components before pumping. All should be one (1) ohm or less.TUBE MIXER INSTALLATION1. Install the mixer and Static Protection Kit as described and shown.2. Connect ground wire assembly to earth ground using supplied clamp.3. Connect ground wire between drum and earth ground.CAUTION - Check electrical continuity of all components before mixing. All should be one (1) ohm or less.• Use only explosion proof electric or non-electric air motors on stainless steel tubes with static protection kit to transfer flam mable or combustible liquids.• Area for use must comply with NFPA 30 guidelines for safe storage and use of flammable and combustible liquids.• All containers and other equipment must be metal and grounded.• Follow NFPA 77 guidelines for control of static electricity.• Avoid splashing. Splash filling can create static electricity and is extremely hazardous.• Fluid velocity must be 3 feet/second maximum (7 gpm in 1” hose).Ground Wire Assembly Clamped to Earth GroundGround Wire (not provided)Explosion Proof Motor or Air MotorGrounded Hose with Ground Wire AssemblyBonding Wire (not provided)No SplashingEarth GroundGround Wire Assembly Clamped to Earth GroundGround Wire (not provided)Earth GroundExplosion Proof Motor or Air MotorOPERATION AND SAFETY PROCEDURESToll Free Service 1-800-888-3743Part Number J102721, Rev. 3Literature ID No. FT00-800C
