Suspended Electromagnets Brochure

SB320UK5Automatic removal of trampiron from material flows onbelt conveyors or in chutesSuspended ElectromagnetsMC and SC ModelsManual Clean (MC) units must beperiodically turned off in order todischarge iron accumulated on theface of the magnet. They aresuitable for applications whereonly occasional tramp iron isexpected. These magnets areusually suspended from a travellingtrolley so that they can be swungclear of the conveyor before theiron is released.Self-Clean (SC) SuspendedElectromagnets providecontinuous, automatic removal oftramp iron and feature a heavy-duty belt, a channel frame forsupporting the pulleys, adjustablebelt take-up and drive. They arerecommended where a largeamount of tramp iron is expectedor where there may be limitedaccess to the magnet for cleaningpurposes.Featuresl Automatic removal of small orlarge volumes of tramp ironl Reliable and durableconstructionl Robust design to withstandharsh conditions and heavy-duty applicationsl Manual or self-cleaning modelsavailable, depending onamounts of iron contaminationexpectedl Installation across the conveyorbelt or over the discharge headpulleyl Custom-built to suit aparticular belt width and/orachieve a specific separationobjectivel Special designs for explosionproof applications, suitable forundergroundinstallationl All possible sizes - Eriez holdsthe Guinness World Record forthe largest ever built®InstallationOption 1: In-lineMagnet suspended over the trajectory ofmaterial discharged from the beltconveyor.Position MC1 or SC1 - see Figs 1a and1b.This is the preferred option because it isthe most efficient use of the magneticseparator, ie when the burden is‘opened up’ in flight and is movingdirectly toward the magnet face. Theiron’s momentum towards the magnetcan assist in its separation. When the magnet is in this position, it isessential that the conveyor head pulleyis made of a non-magnetic material.Option 2: Cross BeltMagnet located over the moving bed ofmaterial and at right angles to theconveyor.Position MC2 or SC2 - see Figs 2a and2b.This position requires a stronger magnetand is not recommended for excessivebelt speeds or deep material burdenswhere the removal of smaller tramp ironis necessary.Important Factors in Magnet SelectionManual Clean ModelsModel Watts Width Length Height Weightmm mm mm KgSE710 1425 610 610 305 309SE715 1765 610 762 330 406SE720 2245 762 762 381 509SE725 2756 762 914 432 673SE730 3344 914 914 483 886SE735 3863 914 1067 508 1155SE740 4444 1067 1067 533 1610SE745 5040 1067 1219 559 1845SE750 5709 1219 1219 584 2180SE755 6371 1219 1372 610 2545SE760 7107 1372 1372 635 2986SE765 7858 1372 1524 660 3164SE770 8671 1524 1524 686 4025SE775 9661 1524 1676 737 4761SE780 11,000 1676 1676 838 6005SE785 12,185 1676 1829 889 7020SE790 13,378 1829 1829 940 8318SE795 15,900 1981 1981 1041 10177SE796 15,500 1981 1981 965 11,100SE798 20,800 2286 2286 1092 15,500Fig 1aFig 2aStandard ModelsDimensions givenare for guidanceonlyFig 1bFig 2bNote: Manyapplications dictatethat a magnet isdesigned for a widebelt width orseparationrequirement.
