The Model 320E measures Nitrous Oxide with excellentaccuracy and stability due to the Gas Filter Correlationprinciple employed. The sample concentration isdetermined by measuring how much infrared light thegas absorbs as it flows through a multi-pass sample cell.The light is first coupled through a filter wheel thatcontains an inert gas in one chamber and a referenceconcentration of N2O in a second chamber.After passing through the sample cell the light isdetected by an optically-filtered, dual-stage cooled PbSedetector. As the filter wheel revolves the energy lossthrough the sample cell is compared with the spanreference signal provided by the gas filter to produce asignal proportional to sample concentration, with littleeffect from interfering gases within the sample. Thisdesign produces excellent zero and span stability, a highsignal to noise ratio and high sensitivity and lowinterferences.Multi-tasking software gives real time indication ofnumerous operating parameters and provides automaticalarms if diagnostic limits are exceeded. Built-in dataacquisition and internal memory allows logging multipleparameters including average and instantaneous values,calibration data and operating parameters. Up to999,999 records of stored data can be retrieved via theRS-232 port, Ethernet connection, or from the frontpanel. The Model 320E features rugged constructionand is designed to perform with a minimum of attention.In the event maintenance is required, modularconstruction makes service a simple operation.?
