With a corporation stop, the solution diffuser can be removed while the process water pipe remains full and pressurized. Sizes Offered by Hydro Instruments: ½”, ¾”, 1”, 1-1/4”, 1-1/2” and 2” The size of the corporation stop assembly identifies the diameter of the ball valves male NPT pipe threads. These threads are used to affix the assembly to the process water pipe. Therefore, the thread tap needed for installation would be the same size. Hydro Instruments offers a variety of options for the corporation stops solution inlet connection. Choose from several sizes of threaded, socket or hose connections. Note: When determining which size is appropriate, it is important to realize that the diameter of the solution tube (or diffuser) is smaller than the diameter of the male threads on the ball valve. This solution tube is always schedule 80 pipe. Ex: The 1” Corporation Stop has a ½” schedule 80 solution tube. Solution-Wetted Parts - These are the parts of the assembly, which will come in full contact with the chemical solution being injected. Hydro offers all sizes with PVC or CPVC solution-wetted parts. These Parts Include: Inlet Connection Fitting, Pipe Nipple, Adapter Coupling and Solution Tube Stainless Steel is also available for the 1” and 1-1/2” sizes. Process-Wetted Parts - These are the parts of the assembly, which will come in contact with the process water. There is little or no contact between these parts and the chemical solution being injected. Hydro offers all sizes with Brass process-wetted parts (standard). These Parts Include: Ball Valve, Sleeve, Capture Nut and O-rings Note: In general, chemicals present in the process water tend to be of a very low concentration. Because of this, chemical resistance is typically not of great concern for the process-wetted parts. Brass is most commonly used for process-wetted parts (such as the ball valve). For instances where Brass is unacceptable, Hydro offers the ½”, ¾”, 1”, 1-1/4” and 1-1/2” sizes in a non-metallic design, which incorporates a PVC or CPVC ball valve and PVDF (Kynar) process-wetted parts (Sleeve and Capture Nut). Note: The use of PVC or CPVC ball valves is not recommended when process line pressure exceeds 200 PSI (assuming temperature is below 100 F).
