The Ecotube System
? An innovative means of optimisingcombustion processes? A technique that generates uniqueeconomic advantages in terms ofreduced emissions, operating andmaintenance costsThe Ecotube system represents an innovative cost-effectiveoptimisation tool for combustion processes and principallycomprises retractable lances - Ecotubes - that are equippedwith injection nozzles. Various agents can be introducedthrough the nozzles at high pressure and velocity into thefurnace media. The Ecotubes are strategically positionedwithin the furnace enabling the injected agents to createa radically improved mixing of the combustion products, resulting in destruction of laminar gas columns and the for-mation of completely mixed turbulent flow patterns.THE ECOTUBE SYSTEMTHE ECOTUBE SYSTEM®®ECOMB AB - Box 2017 - 151 02 Södertälje - SwedenTelephone +46 (0)8 550 12 550 - Fax +46 (0)8 550 20 075www.ecomb.se - info@ecomb.seEcotube system advantages by comparison with other emission abatement techniques:• Engineered for retrofit applications• Lower plant operation costs• Radically improved turbulence and mixingof combustion gases• Reduced NOx, CO, SOx, HCl and particlesin the flue gas• Lower stoichiometric ratio (less excess air)in the furnace• Increased thermal efficiencyEach Ecotube is fitted with:• transmission drive to insert andretract the Ecotube• cleaning mechanism for automaticremoval of furnace deposits fromthe Ecotube surfaceA dedicated high pressure processair system comprising skid mountedfan, ductwork and adjustable Eco-tube distributed nozzles provides theincreased flue gas turbulence andmixing within the furnace. The cooling water system whichenables the Ecotubes to operatecontinuously within the furnacecomprises a pump, a heat ex-changer and auxiliary equipment.Extracted energy can be utilisedfor various purposes within theplant energy system.Four unique basic packagesdesigned for every application:A Ecotube assembliesB Control systemC Air supply systemD Cooling water system• Increased load capacity• Lower ID fan motor absorbed power• Reduced boiler-wall metal corrosion• Reduced erosion of boiler convective surfaces• Minimum unit down time (3-4 days) neededfor installation• Lower maintenance costs• No large ducts or furnace modificationsrequiredA plc based monitor and controlsystem enables unmanned auto-matic operation which is relayedto the regular control room foralarm and monitor functions.®ABCD
