In the emissions mode TRIBO.dgd monitors DCtriboelectric signals resulting from exhaust stream particu-late impaction and subsequent electrical charge transfer,measured in pico amps. Auburn proprietary DC triboelectric detectors require nopotentially hazardous probe coatings, which can accumu-late dischargeable electrical energy. The absence of theinsulated layer also eliminates sensor failure caused byerosion.
