homing process.Readily Available.• Tylox® SuperSeal™ gaskets are available for all common combinations of annular and total annular spaces, and can be manufactured to suit any box culvert size. Say good-bye to the Butyl Rope and External Wrap Say hello to fast, clean, simple instal-lation.The unique design of the Tylox® SuperSeal™ gasket, in combination with a “round-cornered”, single-offset joint, box design now offers the advantages of water-tight jointing and reduced installation time to users of concrete box culverts.Requires minimal field installation time.• Since the Tylox® SuperSeal™ gasket is installed on the box culvert at the point of manufacture, installation is as simple as lowering the box section into position and then homing it. No messy, time-consuming, butyl rope and/or external wrap to install.Requires no field lubrication.• The Tylox® Su-perSeal™ gasket has a layer of silicone lubricant installed on the inner surface of the tube during the manufacturing process; saving you time and money on the jobsite. Self-Contained Lubricant.• Sealed within the tube, the lubricant is impervious to mud, dirt and debris. No special handling is required.Enhanced UV Resistance.• Since the gasket is in-stalled on the box culvert at the point of manu-facture, the gasket may sit exposed to the harmful effects of sun-light for extended periods of time. All Tylox® SuperSeal™ box culvert gaskets are man-ufactured from synthetic rubber compounds engi-neered for enhanced Ozone and U.V. resistance. Full specification compliance. • All Tylox box cul-vert gaskets meet the material requirements of ASTM C1677, C443 C1619, and CSA A257.3, for either “Standard” or “Oil-Resistant” applica-tions.Self-Centering.• The box culvert bell is self-cen-tered, on the spigot, due to the forces generated as the tube rolls into the annular space during the TSS SeriesTylox® SuperSeal™ Pre-lubricated Profile Gaskets forSingle Offset Joints on Concrete Box Culverts. Consult your Hamilton Kent representative for sizing to suit your specific joint details.Use of the Tylox® SuperSeal™ gasket requires that the box culvert be constructed with a round-cornered, bell and spigot, utilizing a single-offset joint design.Plant Installation of gasket onto spigotBrush loose dirt, debris and foreign material from 1. spigot and gasket, ensuring that spigot is free from cracks, chips, or other defects. Stretch the gasket 2. around the spigot, with the nose against the step and the tube laying flat against the bare concrete of the spigot. Equalize the gasket tension around the perimeter 3. of the spigot. On the bottom section of the spigot, roll the gasket up onto the step of the spigot.Apply a suitable contact cement to the spigot in a 4. thin strip along the bottom section of the spigot. To ensure that the cement does not inhibit the movement of the rolling-tube, the strip must not exceed 1” from the step of the joint.Roll the gasket back into place, taking care to en-5. sure the tube does not touch the contact cement. Using a suitable means, clamp the gasket body to the spigot along the lower edge until the contact cement has set.Materials and IdentificationTylox® SuperSeal™ box culvert gaskets are manufac-tured from synthetic rubber compounds, to meet the material requirements of ASTM C1677, C443, and C1619, and CSA A257.3.The applicable specification(s) and useage mode for a particular gasket are identified by a colored stripe around the periphery of the gasket:Standard ASTM C1677, C443, C1619 Class C White Stripe and CSA A257.3 California Greenbook Green StripeOil-Resistant ASTM C1677, C443, C1619 Class D Orange Stripe Nitrile rubber ASTM C1677, C443, C1619 Class D Yellow Stripe Neoprene rubberThe above listing covers the standard, North American specifications.
