UVOST - Hammer Rate For Complimentary Module Brochure
BackgroundDakota Technologies is pleased to announce the availability of our Hammer Rate hardware, a complimentary module for UVOST®, TarGOST®, and Soil Color (SCOST™)systems that are percussion delivered and use a resistive (a.k.a. string) pot. The Hammer Rate add-on allows you to track the information that has always been there but was never logged - the number of hammer strikes needed to advance the probe. The system is useful for identification of varying geological strata based on the ease or difficulty of probe advancement. Hammer Rate typically rises in sands, gravels, and consolidated sediments (common NAPL conduit); and fall in soft clays that retard storage and transport of NAPL.Hammer RateA UVOST Complimentary ModuleDakota Technologies, Inc. Note the correlation between the rise in conductivity at 26 feet and the drop in hammer rate (due to the transition into soft clay).
