Bene?cial bio-?lms thrive when they are protected from sunlight, and exposed to optimal degrees of aeration and nutrient mixing. WCS’s patented technologies create and sustain all of these conditions. Bio-Domes consist of concentrically nested domes that are infused with air to optimize the growth of naturally occurring bio-?lms. Bio-Domes sit on the ?oor of a lagoon and are completely submerged. As water ?ows through Bio-Domes, bottom-to-top, bene?cial bacteria effectively reduce biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), total suspended solids (TSS), and ammonia-nitrogen (NH3/NH4+) in wastewater lagoons prior to discharge. Demonstrated Performance The charts at right show some of the results recently obtained during a USDA sponsored research project. The top chart illustrates the performance of the Bio-Domes during an average water temperature of 8.3°C (47°F). The bottom chart shows the performance of the same Bio-Domes, 8 weeks later during an average water temperature of 0.9°C (33.6°F). Bio-Domes have proven to be an effective, low cost treatment solution for the most challenging conditions.About UsWastewater Compliance Systems is based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
