This year marks a momentous milestone for Anticimex – our 90th anniversary. For nine decades we`ve been dedicated to safeguarding people, property, and public health from the threats posed by pests. Evolving expertise

Founded in Sweden in 1934, Anticimex began as a family business tackling a major issue at the time: bed bugs. The Company`s innovative approach offered a “no bed bugs guarantee” to customers, proving highly successful. This early focus on customer satisfaction and effective solutions laid the foundation for Anticimex`s journey to becoming a global leader in pest control.

Beyond just eliminating pests, Anticimex strategically expanded its services in the 1940s and 50s. Broadened the services scope to include controlling rodents and insects, addressing a wider range of pest problems. In a bold move, Anticimex also partnered with a Swedish insurance company in the 1960s. This unique collaboration allowed us to offer pest control services as part of insurance packages, solidifying the Company role in preventative measures.

Continuos growth

This focus on innovation and strategic partnerships fueled Anticimex`s international expansion. The first foray outside of Sweden came in 1973 with the launch of operations in Norway. The following decades saw continued growth, with the company establishing a presence in other Nordic countries alongside key European markets like Germany and the Netherlands. The Group also diversified their service offerings to include real estate and property management solutions. By the early 2000s, Anticimex had become a well-established player in the European pest control market.

Unlocking the potential

A change in ownership in 2012 marked the beginning of a new era for Anticimex. The Company was acquired by a private equity firm, which fueled a period of dramatic growth. This included strategic acquisitions, such as SITA Pest Control in Asia in 2016, and a push into the North American market in the same year. Today, Anticimex is a global leader in innovative pest solutions, operating in 21 countries (Check Anticimex offices) and offering a comprehensive suite of pest control, digital pest control, hygiene, and environment services.

From ten years ago until today, Anticimex has embraced digital innovation with the development of Anticimex SMART.
