The pneumati-cally operated pump removes theliquid from the smaller containerand transfers it into a 55-gallondrum. HPLC machines can beconnected to the safety containerfor a continuous waste feed whilecapturing the VOC’s through asmall activated carbon filter.Small bottles and labware can be emptied intothe wide mouth of the safety can. XTRACTOR has been constructedin several configurations to suit theclients’ opera-tion. Portablecarts, a stationary systemwith a roller conveyor and a system designed to be placed inside a hood. With all three configurationswe offer two different connectionsystems for the extraction of sol-vents from the safety container.The first is through a quick discon-nect fitting with a check valve inwhich the operator connects tothe pump in-feed, the other isthrough fitting which is cappedduring transport and then open forwaste collection via a wand. Thisconnection system is for wastestreams that contain solids.XTRACTOR capturesvolatiles released during the trans-fer so that the operator does notneed respiratory protection.
