A fl ow indicator for Air-O-Cell® cassettes and another for Via-Cell® /Air-O-Cell® CSI cassettes are sup-plied with your pump for easy calibration. Your pump may also be calibrated using the optional bubble tube for precise calibration. Do NOT calibrate the Bio-Pump® Plus with any other devices. The nature of the impeller fan motor is very sensitive to pressure changes and must be calibrated using custom-ized low resistance methods.15LPM MarkFloat BallAdjust fl ow until ball is centered on line.Connect fl ow indicator to pump as shownAbout the Supplied Flow IndicatorThe fl ow indicator supplied with the Bio-Pump® Plus has been specially designed to account for the low resistance requirements of an impeller fan motor and calibrated to show an air fl ow rate of 15LPM. This fl ow indicator takes into account and simulates the natural backpressure of the Air-O-Cell®,Via-Cell® ,and Air-O-Cell® CSI. DO NOT attempt to verify the calibration of this fl ow in-dicator with any other device than a Zefon bubble tube or Mini-BUCK IAQ calibrator. Attempting to calibrate the Bio-Pump® Plus or the fl ow indicator with any other device will show an incorrect fl ow rate.Press the POWER button to turn the pump on.Using the arrows, select CALIBRATE BIO-PUMP.Connect the fl ow indicator or bubble tube.Press the SET button and the unit will start running at a low speed.Use the arrows to adjust the fl ow rate until 15LPM is shown on thefl ow indicator or bubble tube. Note: When setting calibration, thefl ow starts out very low. Continue to press the up arrow until 15LPMis reached. This may take as many as 15 pushes of the button.Press the set key to save the calibration. The pump will stopautomatically.Note: To check the pump calibration you must use the “verify calibration” setting. Using the Calibrate Bio-Pump mode will erase the previous fl ow setting from memory and revert to a low speed setting.Press the POWER button to turn the pump on.Use the arrow buttons to select VERIFY CALIBRATION.Connect the fl ow indicator or bubble tube.Press the SET or START button to begin.Measure the fl ow rate with the calibrator. To stop, press the stop button. Quick Sample ModeQuick Sample modes allows easy sampling of the most commonly used predetermined sampling times of 1, 2, 5 or 10 minutes.2. Single Sampling ModeSingle Sampling Mode is designed to take one sample at a predetermined amount of time. The amount of sample time can be set anywhere from 1 minute to 9 hours 59 minutes.3. Sequential Sampling ModeSequential sampling allows the pump to be programmed to turn on and off at predetermined times. Example: it can be programmed to run for one minute every hour for fi ve hours.Taking Sampling Using the Quick Sample ModeTaking Samples Using Single Sampling ModePlace the pump in the desired location.Place cassette on the rubber grommet on top of the pump so that the cassette fi ts snugly.Press the POWER button to turn the pump on.Press the “QUICK SAMPLE” button. When power is restored, simply turn the power on, press the SET button, and the time the pump ran before shutting down will be displayed.Charging the BatteryTo charge the battery, plug in the charger. The green charging light next to the LCD display will Il-luminate to indicate the unit is charging. When charging is complete, the light will go out. A full battery charge takes approximately 3 hours. If the pump will not be used for an extended period of time, it will slowly lose its battery charge and will need to be recharged before use. During these extended periods the pump can be kept plugged in so the battery receives a trickle charge. Note: During a trickle charge, the battery charging indicator light will not illuminate.Note: When charging the battery, the internal fan will run at a very low speed to keep internal componants cool. A very low humming noise may be heard when charging becuase of this. This is normal.AC Power OperationThe Bio-Pump™ may be run using standard AC power supplied by the charger. To do this simply plug in the charger and run as normal.Installing a New Battery1. Remove the two screws from the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the pump.2. Pull out the battery and unplug the cord.3. Plug in the new battery and insert into battery compartment.4. Press the POWER button to turn the pump on.2. Using the arrows, select BATTERY LEVEL. The display will show “Checking Battery Level”.3. After a few seconds the percentage of battery life remaining will be displayed.Note: The percentage shown may vary up or down at times as the batteries adjust themselves. Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries constantly work at regenerating themselves and releasing more power. It is possible for the displayed battery level to increase or decrease without being used because of this.1.2.3.4.5.6.7.
